Disappointed
Rolled up expecting a continuation of day 4 where SA 'scrapped' and stayed in the match
There was a glimmer of hope today
Give the Victorians a real contest , make them earn Lord Sheffields Shield at least
Didnt happen the Victorians won very easily in the end

SA 340
VI 399
SA 251
VI 3/196
72*Handscomb  [man of the match]
2* Wade

Marcus Stoinis gave me something to remember today
He hit 4 zacs in a row into the crowd or into the Sparks stand
Brilliant batting

Elliot Opie came on with a few runs needed for his first over today
Immediately got Stoinis out
Opie 1/15 [9] with 2 dropped catches, great effort in his 2nd game for SA

On Mick Lewis, had the same thing happened with a Pakistani player or official all hell would've broken loose, he should be sacked

AFTER MATCH PRESENTATIONS

87 year old Neil 'nodder' Dansie presented the medals
Placed the medallions around each players neck
Spoke to most of them for several seconds
Gave former SA cricketer Dan Christian a decent embrace
Neil Dansie played SS cricket for SA
Neil also played SANFL football for that magnificent Eastern suburbs football club

Travis Head made mention of how this current team had earnt respect

Matthew Wade said it was a good 5 day wicket

Cameron White has been in 4 Sheffield Shield winning teams

Lee wrote:Pretty good effort this season by a young team.

Their problem is mainly the number of batsmen who get a start and a good score who don't go on with it.  The 2 who have done so, Head and Lehmann didn't get going in this game.

Victoria had 2 batsmen who did go on and made centuries. That is the difference.

For next season, they need to find a spinner who can bowl out the tail.

" We had blokes who could have got BIG hundreds
I think in the first innings the difference between their lead was their two hundreds and our 2 seventies."

Still a great season by South Australia considering some of the results in past seasons, making a final is something to build on next year in all formats. Improvements still needed with batting, thought bowlers had a great season especially Joe Mennie to be the leading wicket taker in the competition and Chad Sayers to Make an Australian Squad.

Correspondence sent to the press
Published 2/4/2016

* So, lacking a specialist spin bowler ourselves , we obligingly provide the Victorian Sheffield Shield side with a turning wicket at Glenelg Oval, where upon Jon Holland routs the SA team in both innings with his spin.
It was a gift reminiscent or Richmond captain Trent Cotchin winning the toss and choosing to kick into the wind against Port Adelaide in the 2014 final at Adelaide Oval.*

COME IN SPINNER ?
Always easy in hindsight , but :
Should SA have played a spinner ?
In a 4 day game, probably not ?
In a 5 day game probably yes ?

PITCH
Some interstate curators in the recent past , have produced 5 day roads for SS finals
Should the Glenelg deck been prepared the same way ?

In the end
A good 5 day deck from what I saw , bowlers/batsmen had a chance
The better team on the 5 days overall won the match

Adam Voges was in hospital after being hit in the head while fielding in a county game in England, I believe he is out of hospital and is considered to be doing well.
