Yes, full credit to him.
The Australian selectors should be starting to take notice.
He'd be rushed in if he was from NSW

He'd already be 5 tests into his career if he was from NSW.

Great performances by Head and Sayers - a lazy seven for.
Both should get a baggy green at some stage.

And 10 matches into his career if he was from WA. I can't think of too many NSW players who haven't deserved their spot but I can name at least 15 lucky WA players in the last 40 years.

As far as I can ascertain for SA to host the final the following has to happen :
Queensland fail to beat WA outright.
If Queensland fails to beat WA outright we are guaranteed a finals berth but to host it we must rely on NSW and Victoria ending in a draw.
Additionally in addition to the draw Victoria either has be dismissed in the first innings for less than 301 or fail to get to 301 by the end of the 100th over.
I wouldn't have a clue who would host the final should Victoria get to exactly 301 and then draw. By my calculations SA and Victoria would end with 49.63 points.

Interesting the toss
George Bailey won the toss and batted on a greeny
Been informed Travis Head would have put Tasmania in ?
Tasmania were bundled out for 91
George might be copping it for his decision to bat first
However did the Tasmanian selectors pick the right team for this pitch ?
Bird
Rainbird
Gulbis
Rose
Webber
When you pick 2 spinners it is usually best to bowl last
Sayers
Worrall
Mennie
Opie
Head
4 quicks and a part time spinner
Travis Head probably had to put Tasmania in if he won the toss on that greeny
So was George Bailey snookered at the toss ?

I would have thought Webster is more of a batsman then a bowler, same may also be able to be said about Gulbis, so may a bit light in the front line pace bowling department.

WA finished 233 ahead of Queensland after their first innings so the chances of a Qld outright look slim.
We will be in the final unless something miraculous occurs.
What we need now is some rain in Alice Springs

Queensland now 84 behind with only 4 wickets in hand.
30% chance of rain in Alice Springs tomorrow (Friday) so still a chance of a draw between N.S.W and Victoria

Queensland have lost by an innings so we are in the final.
NSW are making slow work of it, they are now 5/133 of 52 overs giving them a lead of 224 after an early collapse. Looks like it is a hard wicket to score quickly on.

Awesome!
Victoria are a long way from the win, but I believe they can still make the final if they bat out a draw still which is entirely possible (and of course would give us hosting rights as well!).
Regardless it's a fantastic achievement and will be a wonderful experience for the youngsters.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2015-2016
The whole venue situation for the final wherever it may be held is a bit of a shambles really.
The fact that Cricket Australia knowingly schedule the shield final against Round 1 of the AFL season is crazy. This is their marquee event after all, surely they can schedule it a week or two earlier.
Is it because the Big Bash has pushed the cricket season out, or has it always been that way?

Starting the season a few weeks earlier could be solution, or change the timing of the one day cup, chaging it back to running through the season instead of in a block in October.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2015-2016
The Big Bash scheduling must have some effect as there is a month without Shield Cricket.
However, even 5 years ago before BBL it was running into football.
How locked in are the dates between cricket and footy tenancy at Adelaide Oval? Not sure if they are flexible with scheduling.
Surely it is solvable with better coordination between the 2 sports given that 4 grounds are involved.

The Shield final is a marquee domestic event for Cricket Australia. If it's in NSW like it seems to be every second year then there might not be much of a crowd out to it, but given this is SA's first shield final in 20 years if it was here in Adelaide there's a fair chance a reasonable crowd would turn out.

I suspect we will be playing on North Sydney oval as the Vics are in a spot of bother. 5/73 at lunch chasing 268.
