Absolutely - went down just after 12 I reckon, and no response from the SANFL for 5 hours. That is a disaster in today's digital age.

Coaches did have stats. They use a special program with a direct feed from the stats providers so weren't affected by the SANFL website/app outage.Brucetiki wrote:Flag No.10 wrote:No live stats today.
No live stats for the coaches either apparently.

Re: 2017 Broadcasting
it must have worked for a while because i got a text from a mate that lives in Melbourne (originally from Adelaide) & was listening to the Sturt v Glenelg match & said the commentators said ''it'll be a Norwood v Sturt Grand final'' i'd love to know in what context this was said, given that one of them was likely to be playing in an Elimination Final & while not impossible history says it is tough.....can someone please clarify the context of the statement ?

BP, who are the new commentators for the finals?
What's happened to the regulars?

Well Brenton Yates always slots in for John Casey when he is away.
Anthony Tucker whilst 1st SANFL game is a regular part of the ABC Adelaide footy team, Peter Walsh is either interstate or having a well deserved weekend off.
All the digital pass callers are regulars having called at least 5 games each this season with the exception of David Elliot who is just a 3rd person special guest.

Watching the game in Krakow, Poland. The game is coming in load and clear. 9.30am I wont say it often but congrats to SANFL. I will be in Munich for grand final and hoping to see a big Eagles Grand Final win.

Ahead of two or three very good callers and several who are well versed. Interesting decision.

No 5AA this year it seems. Love them or hate them, it's a bit of a blow that they're not covering the finals.

I am calling Digital Stream with Don Cooper for 1st Semi, and helping the Eagles Radio boys with some "unbiased" stats in the 2nd Semi

Re: 2017 Broadcasting
Thanks Phil,
Do you know who's calling the other streaming game?
There's obviously some angst on the forums about who is selected to call.
Without judging that, my take is that it is a professional product that people are paying for and, as such, should be the best quality possible, in both vision and commentary.
There are several good callers available. I would rate Phil H, Phil Aspinall, John Nankivell, Don Cooper, Chris Kendall, Michael Maney and some others as being not only good callers, but passionate SANFL people. (no offence to any I've forgotten).
I haven't watched last week's finals on the streaming, so can't comment on that, but I am dumbfounded if it's correct that CK isn't required at all, while others may be calling each week of the finals.
If so, that needs an explanation, which may well clear the air and be understandable.
If not, people can only draw their own conclusions.

Re: 2017 Broadcasting
For the stream team
Myself and Don Cooper 1st Semi
John Nankivell and Doug Oakley 2nd semi
Nether myself, John or Doug called last week
Don is not available rest of season
---------------------
Again for the upteenth time neither myself nor Phil Aspinall are involved in rostering this season ... we are callers when rostered to be so.
So why Lee are you asking me for an "explanation"?
Can I suggest Lee that you take these questions up with the correct people as neither I nor Phil Aspinall are in a position to provide it.
Given your position you more than anyone else here know who the people who make these decisions are ... and given your position you probably have the authority to ask them ... have you ?
If not please leave Phil Aspinall and myself alone to do our job which is to call the footy.

Don't be too sensitive, Phil, I haven't asked you for an explanation.
That's quite clear from my post, otherwise I would have said 'you', not PhilH, obviously.
I have no idea who the 'correct people' are and don't need to know, just asking a question.
The only time I mentioned you and Phil A is to thank you for your reply and state you're both good callers, so I'm not sure about needing to be 'left alone'?

If you don't know who the correct people are you should because your club agreed to have them replace the previous radio coverage
As for your last two posts they say very different things
If so, that needs an explanation, which may well clear the air and be understandable.
If not, people can only draw their own conclusions.
don't need to know, just asking a question
so we "need an explanation" but "don't need to know"
?

Phil, take it easy, no need to over-react.
'That needs an explanation' is a generic statement not addressed to anyone, quite clearly.
As for your first statement, that was a SANFL decision.
Your last sentence conflates two totally different concepts. We'd all like an explanation, if we don't get one, I'm not bothered enough to contact the 'correct' people.
A bit over-sensitive, mate.

Probably was Lee but I guess it's a bit of an emotional time for a lot of people and it's just misdirected frustration.
Hopefully everyone sticks at it because it's a shame when politics ruin the desire for people to continue doing what they absolutely love.

As of two days ago, it looks the 7plus app (at least the desktop version) no longer allows you to select region (postcode). It looks like it now defaults to the state of your local area. So, unless I'm mistaken, interstate viewers are now unable to watch.
Does anyone know more?

Yeah I noticed this when trying to tap into one of the VFL Prelims on Saturday. The mobile/tablet app still lets you select the region at this stage.

Thanks for that Brucetiki. I hadn't tried the tablet app this week yet. Good to hear that still works.

More than one club looking at doing their own in-house match broadcast for members as well as possible changes to streaming?
