Yes it will be interesting. Like Norwood when they finished their run of 3 premierships, they dropped off for a bit,
Some retirements like Jack Osborne and not sure of any others at this stage could also have an impact on what has been a pretty settled group for a couple of years.
Back in the day of Port's great successes and then perhaps Centrals, it was all about the number of players with 150+ games experience. They both had very stable lists as well as a blend of very good players of course.
But now it is almost how many players in the 50 - 100 games bracket that attests to a sides stability. Sturt is in that position at the moment.
So retention of those players is very important to keeping the love flowing.
Norwood tried to do that by employing Ben Warren after Basset to keep a game style in tact. I guess it worked for 1 season. Would Sturt go the same way? I don't know. Ben Warren has been with the Blues for the last few seasons and has seem Mattner's approach up close.
He has been around about 5 premierships as a player or coach in close succession, so you would reckon he would know what it takes. He would have to be in the mix, surely?
As to the wish list, A decent sized forward was clearly missing this year. We didn't fill Beard's spot very well imo. The back six are fine if they remain. Midfield was not as consistent this year. If the Power delist Trengrove, then we should go after him very hard.

Hearing one more decent recruit to come and injuries ruined them last year so will not write them off.

AGM last night.
$680K profit declared.
However, I imagine a significant portion of that would be the Footy Park distribution. Not sure exactly how much that is.
The debt that nearly strangled the Blues 6 years ago is being arrested and now well in hand, which is very pleasing.
This was now the 5th year of profit in succession, a huge difference to what had been happening prior to that.
Sue Dewing (GM) largely needs to be congratulated for that as well as the Board.
What is most pleasing is the reliance on pokies revenue becoming less each year. It was mentioned that the trends in gaming revenue across SA venues is decreasing.
