GL won the their last 6 matches in 2018
Ends up being the longest unbroken winning streak in the SANFL
NA had a winning streak of 5 in a row
GL also defeated eventual premiers NA in that winning streak
Too early to contemplate a predicted finish, but certainly a finals berth is possible

You would only be encouraged by that end of year momentum.
If the group largely stays, then I think (Bayman) you might go into 2019 quietly optimistic.

One of the reasons why GL had that late season winning streak, is that they didnt play Norwood or Woodville West Torrens ...

Very true, the best time to beat any team is when it matters most....2002 comes to mind

Still an impressive win list including 2017 premier and 2018 premier.fatty wrote:bayman wrote:From rounds 14-19

They beat North by 3 points. Would the scores be reversed if North played their PF side.

Hearing they’re keen on Danyle Pearce but doubt they’d go for the transfer fee at his age. Was another player was told they were into (decent player too) but can’t remember who, d’oh.

Correct, was all but a lock in mid season but while negotiations are still on they/we won’t be forking out the suggested $25,000.00 transfer fee for a player whose likely to be a 2 year player, he has already bought a house at Somerton to be close to Glenelg & I’ll add in the present financial position we’re in it would be ludicrous to spend that much.....if Cory Gregson doesn’t get picked up, him & his partner will move back to Adelaide so I presume Glenelg would benefit from that

Talking to a noted Glenelg supporter yesterday they said that Cory Gregson was shopping himself around to other SANFL clubs.

So was Pearce .. To be fair I think most players do these days and fair enough I guess

Re: Glenelg 2019...all discussions
Does anyone know if a transfer fee is required by SANFL clubs on returning players. I saw mentioned that Pearce would command $25k. That ridiculous considering his age.

A player returning from the AFL and going to a different SANFL club attracts a transfer fee of $25,000.
Transfers between SANFL clubs attract a transfer fee based on a points system. This usually works out to be much less.

Lee in cases like these is the tribunal still an option, or is that just when it’s SANFL club to SANFL club?

I don't know, Scrunch, but I haven't heard of that actually happening. I think you might be right, though.
I do know clubs can negotiate a different fee in exceptional circumstances.
