NORWOOD 2019...All discussions
OUTS Confirmed
Bartlett
Fuller
Jeffries
Could be another few if I believe all the talk around the club
Grigg might be drafted back to the AFL , if so that would be a massive loss to the club
INS
Troy Menzel ?
If so another player who has represented CD recruited to NW , following Glenn and Edmeade
NW I reckon, need BIG key forwards , Menzel and Surman if fit and firing would straighten them up

I think Norwood will still be around the mark in 2019 and always seem to mange to recruit fairly well.

Re: NORWOOD 2019...All discussions
There is BIG chatter that Norwood BIG men Sam Baulderstone and Brady Dawe might be contemplating SANFL retirement soon
Im not sure if this information 'should ' be correct ?
SAM BAULDERSTONE
Sam Baulderstone turns 28 later this month
As a ruckman he should really be able to continue for several more seasons
His skill levels by hand and foot are very good for a ruckman
I still think he has up to 5 years left in the SANFL
BRADY DAWE
Back up ruckman and key forward is now 30 years old
A terrific servant to the Norwood football club , he might be contemplating retirement prob after next season ?
Brady has played 192 games, he has an opportunity to play his 200th game next season
Im tipping he will play on next season, and possibly a vision to play in 2020
HENRY CRAUFORD
Has been signed by Norwood for the 2019 season
He is from the Mount Burr football club
Henry Crauford is a ruckman
By recruiting a a ruckman, it adds speculation to the futures of Sam Baulderstone and Brady Dawe perhaps ?
JAMES SIVIOUR
Made his debut against West Adelaide in 2018 playing in ruck , when Sam Baulderstone was unavailable
LUKE SURMAN
The key forward, might be a fast track option as a ruckman next season
Talented footballer, does very well in marking contests up forward

You got a whisper? Everyone knows I think Bayman.
Scrappy, Dawe playing on in 2019, likely Baulderstone will too.

Maybe if your close to your club you’d know, some guy was in the shop earlier & told me, since then it’s been on the tv news bulletins...if you knew earlier why didn’t you let us all know? I for one didn’t even know the case was today

For me the strangest thing Norwood released a statement they knew in March about the incident but signed him up anyway.
guess next time the club might have second toughts.
just my thoughts.

Because I knew it would hit the press relatively quickly and didn’t see the need to try and claim a scoop

Fair enough, I didn’t think it was a “scoop” thought it was relevant information given he’s in the sanfl...it’d be a relief for him & hopefully he’s learnt from this episode in his life

All good Bayman, that "scoop" comment wasn't directed at you. Josh still has a bit to go through and regardless of whether he ever plays again, just hope he can can learn from mistakes made and lead a happy and healthy life going forward, same as one would wish for any young person with so much ahead of them.

Re: NORWOOD 2019...All discussions
NORWOOD will cap off its historic trip to Europe when it plays a nine-a-side game against a Croatian team in Biograd on Monday.
A Redlegs contingent, along with 13 members of the club’s women squad, have been training in Croatia for the past week to help promote the game.
Cameron Shenton, Lewis Johnston, Mitch Wilkins, Matthew Nunn and Anthony Giannini are among the players who will be in action in the modified game. Alex Forster, who quit the Redlegs mid-season to play with Payneham Norwood Union in division one Adelaide Footy League, will don the red and blue jumper for the game.
The venture was organised by Redlegs chief executive James Fantasia, who has connections in Croatia and was keen to assist that country in promoting the code.
“The players have been training every day, it’s a bit of a training camp,” Redlegs football manager Mark Ross said. “There are six league players on the trip as well as players from the reserves and under 18s.”

SIMON PHILLIPS
Retired after a very very good career at Norwood
His form as a small key forward in 2018 was immeasurable
For a little bloke, at the end of his career , to compete with mainly bigger opponents is a testament to his courage
Flipper had his jaw broken in the 2010 G/F
He also had shoulder problems for a duration of time
To recover from those setbacks and play well in his last season was a great effort
By all accounts a very popular person around the club , and elsewhere
Seems to me that Simon Flipper Phillips was as good a person as he was an outstanding footballer

Update on Norwood player movements
This includes :
INS
Crauford
Miller
Szust
OUTS
Bartlett
Edmeade
Flipper
Fuller
Giannini
Jeffries
Viney
THE G MEN
Will Grigg get drafted ?
Will Glenn be available ?
Any other player movements at the club ?
JOSH MILLER
Interesting return
Was recruited by Norwood from the Glenelg football club and played a couple of league games in 2016 for Norwood
He didnt play a senior game in 2017, however he must have been close to playing as he won the Reserves best and Fairest award at the club
Josh Miller has had a season off in 2018 , and has returned for the 2019 season

Re: NORWOOD 2019...All discussions
PATRICK LEVICKI
Playing for West Adelaide in 2019
I reckon this will be a great pick up for West Adelaide
With the very recent rules changes such as limited interchanges capped at about 60, and the last touch out of bounds rule and the proposed ones coming, the SANFL is likely to be even less congested and played at higher tempos
The need for tall mobile defenders with a decent skill level , durability and mobility , becomes a need.
Overall , Patricki Levicki fits those criterias, Im tipping that Norwoods loss with be Wests infinite gain

Bit disappointing to see Harry Viney as an OUT, thought perhaps he didnt get enough opportunities the last few seasons
Pat Levicki[West Adelaide] surprise that superboot was cleared
Simon Phillips will surely be missed up forward
Matt Fuller [retired] finishes up as a terrific defender at the club , hard to replace in defence
Never got to see Luke Valente[Fremantle] by all reports a very talented junior
Josh Glenn was a massive loss at the back end of the 2018 season, perhaps if he played , Norwood may have won the 2018 flag
Much has been said about Mitchell Griggs brilliance at the club, in my opinion Josh Glenn is as good a footballer as Grigg, talent wise
And off course Im so so surprised Mitchell Grigg has not been re drafted , as yet

A lot of turnover and have heard Cotton not very popular as a coach. I expect a raft of recruits .
