Re: Glenelg 2019...all discussions
I mentioned this in the rumour file
Glenelg has secured the signature of promising midfielder Luke Partington, who will return to SANFL ranks in 2019.
Delisted by AFL club West Coast after playing six matches in three seasons for the Eagles, Partington settled on the Bays after being courted by at least four SANFL clubs.
''Going to school at Immanuel, it’s the place I really wanted to live. I already have relationships with a lot of the guys here, it’s a great spot to come in a play footy. Mark is a very experienced coach with great ideas, with a great team of coaches and support staff. Glenelg is the Club that really suits me best.'' said Partington, who was selected at pick No.28 in the 2015 AFL National Draft.
The 21-year-old - who was SA U18 vice-captain in 2015 - proved to be an extremely consistent and durable performer in the WAFL, averaging more than 24 disposals in 46 matches for the Eagles' feeder club East Perth.
This year, Partington was joint-winner of East Perth's best-and-fairest award with former Glenelg junior Matt Allen while also polling the most votes for the Royals at the 2018 Sandover Medal.
Originally from Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, Partington came through Port Adelaide's talent programs before transferring to Norwood in 2015 following SANFL's boundary redistribution of development zones.
As an 18-year-old, Partington - an Immanuel College graduate - played six SANFL League matches for the Redlegs in 2015, including the Elimination Final loss to Central District.
Measuring in at 181cm and 77kg, Partington is considered to be a ball-carrying midfielder, who can also gain possession on the inside of the contest.
''We’re thrilled to have Luke at the Club. We targeted him not only as a quality footballer with experience at AFL level, but as a kid with great character and strong values that will fit into our squad really well. We think he’s going to be a long-term player for us and a strong leader who will really boost our midfield.'' Glenelg coach Mark Stone said.
Partington's presence adds to the highly-anticipated returns of key forward Liam McBean and reliable defender Brad Agnew, who will again don the black and goal next year after spending this season travelling overseas.

I'm not sure Liam McBean is that highly anticipated. First couple of games were outstanding but it all went downhill from there. Needs to work harder or add some new tricks to his game.
Partington should be a valuable recruit.

The Glenelg Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of versatile Tasmanian, Rulla Kelly-Mansell for season 2019. Kelly-Mansell joins the Tigers from Launceston in the Tasmanian Football League, where he has spent the past two seasons under former Glenelg midfielder, Sam Lonergan.
The 26 year old looks set to add depth off the half-back line, with the ability to push out to a wing or up to half-forward when required.
"We are really happy to have Rulla join us and are excited by what he add to our squad with his hard run and penetrating kick." Tigers Coach Mark Stone said.
"He is training ahead of schedule to get to know the players and is driven to make his mark in this competition."
Kelly-Mansell joins new recruit and former West Coast Eagle Luke Partington at The Bays alongside Liam McBean and Brad Agnew, both returning in season 2019 after spending this year overseas.

Family reasons, bayman?bayman wrote:Terry Milera not likely to go on
I know his wife has a heart condition, hence the reason he quit AFL footy.
She is the sister of Gavin Wanganeen. Useless trivia fact there, for those playing at home.

Agnew is a welcome return. Classy defender who gives 100% and has the ability to play on taller players and beat them with his pace and leap.
Amato was a surprise out. Seems like he got dropped to the magoos, had a dummy spit and stormed out. I presume there may be something else but it could be as simple as the coach demanding more effort and Amato not willing to step up.

Tipping the Tigers to be one of the big improves, next season.
Look at what and North fans have experienced in recent years.

Good, I don’t rate him, when he got injured & White went into ruck & then all of a sudden there was a contest in the middle & we started winning a few games...definitely no coincidence
