Terrible, i watched it on ch 11 last night.

I kept watching the movie in hope it got better...wrong.

Music 1/10 apart from one song...'Do it for your country' otherwise a 0/10

Michelle Pfeiffer looks ok

Overall...give it a miss 1/10

The Metal Mickey show was on the abc in the afternoons in the 80s. Mickey was a robot who was supposed to help his owners, the Wilberforce, around the home. Although he was home made I think he had magic powers and there were fights with aliens in some shows. Apparently it's available on DVD so perhaps you could rent it for a quiet night at home Bayman.

I can pretty much quote you the script of Strictly Ballroom or the Big Steal...

(Geoff Mullin's the boss, but I'm better lookin'....)

The Big Steal wasn't a bad film, enjoyed that, i've never seen SB though

Has there been a better Australian actor ?
He is my favorite
Has a mullet in this film , and plays a great apart
Custer is portrayed as a daring flamboyant officer

7 OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND
Acts well , how many times and how many movies does she pash off Flynn !
It certainly was the in like flynn thing in those days

7 ARTHUR KENNEDY
The baddy guy , always acts well

8 ANTHONY QUINN
A young Anthony Quinn , in another ethnic or indigenous part
This time as an Indian
In his part he parades a fair bit of time topless , and is called Crazy Horse !

ELEANOR PARKER
Plays a very very brief part
I've tried to spot her in the film
I think it was a part with another lady being introduced to Errol Custer
What an actress she became , one of the very best

There is a memorable sequence in this film
Kennedy[Ned Sharp] is more or less selling grog for profit
Flynn[Custer] is not impressed
The 2 of them in this bar scene , with this classic movie dialogue

The start
CUSTER: Lets drink to glory
SHARP :You always were a great one for glory Custer

A bit later
SHARP: What did glory get you, a two bit job and a court martial, well that's not enough, now I 'm going to drink to something that's worth having , something they'll kiss your feet for having , here's to money , and long may she jingle.
CUSTER : You may be right about money Sharp, quite right, but there's one thing to be said about glory
SHARP : And what's that ?
CUSTER : You can take glory with you when it's your time to go.

Superb dialogue
What a movie and what an actor Errol Flynn

Would it matter what this movie plot was about ?
Look at that quartet of actors, male legends, female glamour
The movie is about Edward G and cool hand Paul Newman who are in Sweeden to receive Nosherminatorbel Prize awards
That's the gist of it, except it turns into a comical, suspenseful flick

PAUL NEWMAN
Has the same hairstyle as Ecky !
A superb actor , has many geres, can play a spectrum of different parts, one of the most versatile of all actors

EDWARD G ROBINSON
Icon of the screen
In this movie he plays the part of a New man ....

ELKE SOMMER
Do they come better looking than Elke Sommer ?
Not too often
There is so much Barbara Eden about her look and acting
Elke plays a very quiet suitable level headed woman in this film
She is no relation to Stormy ...

DIANNE BAKER
Pretty brunette , acts quite well

BRITT EKLAND
Before Borg and Abba there was Britt Ekland putting Sweeden on the map
She plays a very brief part in a nudist meeting
Unfortunately she was not topless

9.2 DELIVERY MAN [2013]

Saw this movie today, and shared a wonderful film with the other 7 people there
David Wozniak[Vaughn] was just the perfect part for this movie
He is going though a very rough trot
His girlfriend dumps him
A mob is gunna break him for $80k that he owes
He is unreliable
A liability in the families meat business
His life is a mess

He gets home one day and there's a Lawyer waiting for him
Just when you think it can't get any worse , Wozniak is told he is the father of 533 children after giving spoof donations about 20 years earlier
A proportion of those kids are taking legal action to find out who is their daddy

What happens after that makes it a funny witty emotional roller coaster

VINCE VAUGHN 9
Not a hunk , but acts superbly , he is a star

CHRIS PRATT 6
Wozniaks Lawyer

COBIE SMULDERS 7
Real good looking babe , first time I've seen her, hopefully not the last
Has the Demi Moore look about her in this film

Harold Hopkins as Grainger Cooley, a sex-obsessed, loud-mouthed lawyer
Graham Kennedy as Mack, a recently separated design engineer
Veronica Lang, who was awarded the AFI Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, as Jody, Simon's wife and a Liberal supporter
Candy Raymond as Kerry, a rude and snooty painter who has had four major art exhibitions
Kit Taylor as Evan, Kerry's boyfriend, an uptight, socialist dentist
John Gorton as himself (he was the incumbent Prime Minister of Australia at the election, and his party won a narrow victory) (cameo)

Quite an enjoyable movie, Graham Kennedy under rated as an actor was very good.
Candy Raymond, a very good looking sort.   
Overall 8/10 and worth watching.

8.2 DONS PARTY [1976]

Very enjoyable movie
It looks like a typical Aussie party of the times


CANDY RAYMOND 7
Candy Raymond helped put Tasmania on the map in this film
If you watch this great film , and you do get bored and your male heterosexual , at least wait and see Candy in the flesh

GRAHAM KENNEDY 8
Agree with First Blood
The great man is seriously under-rated as an actor
And his TV show was good to watch

4.2 THE DOCTORS DILEMNA [1958]

7 Leslie Caron
7 Robert Morley

Set in the early 1900s
Terrible movie saved by 3 above mentioned stars
Dirk is a sick man
Caron is his gorgeous wife who will do almost anything to save his life
She gets involved with a group of pompous, snooty, or snobbish doctors
Those doctors discuss how they treat their patients
They discuss common issues of the times like Consumption, TB, circulation , Blood Poisoning and off course how Phagocytes are a great remedy , and how to save Dirk

DIRK BOGARDE
One of the great British actors in his time
Plays a part before its time , more like a modern day figjam rogue
Plays his part adequately

LESLIE CARON
Very Angelina Jolie in appearance and looks exquisite
Actually showed some acting ability, unlike her dreadful part in Gigi [1958]
She always looks the part though

ROBERT MORLEY
A portly rotund actor , you know him if you see him
Don't know about his cast as a high nosed doctor
Like him better in jovial roles

Bogarde does converse a lovely line about his beautiful wife Caron
" Don't cry , it makes you ugly, I cant stand that."

Cant recommend the film
Unless you are a Bogarde or Caron fan , as I am, give it a miss

Don's Party is one of the Australian 'classics'.

Walkabout (NITV) Last night.
Adventure | Drama  1971

Two young children are stranded in the Australian outback and are forced to cope on their own. They meet an Aborigine on "walkabout".

Stars:
Jenny Agutter
David Gulpilil

A young David Gulpilil does well.

Overall, a bit slow at times but worth watching.

Jenny Agutter also starred in American Werewolf in London. Not a bad looking sort.

I've not seen the film Stork
I've seen her in Alvin Purple and Caddie , and various other times
She was a stunner in those days

She was nominated for an Academy Award this year
Not bad for an Australian actress in her mid sixties

Wouldnt matter if she stuffed up her lines
She simply looks the part

The golden girl of the times
I used to wear a Farah force it Fawcett tee shirt , in my teen daze
She is stunning
She only had a minor role to play , but what a double act Agutter and Fawcett
