Watch the news...

ok, i'll ask it, for the news which station do we watch ?

i can't see how Gem & the equivalent stations can broadcast the footy when the other states & territories will have little or no interest in it.....unless they use the same system the ABC did

Look at the title of this thread, bayman Wink

so we watch the ch7 news tomorrow night too watch & listen to them tell us that they are going to broadcast the footy, thanks BP i now know so i wont have too watch Wink

It will be very interesting to see who they go with for the commentary team?

'Soders' will be one for sure

does Chris Dittmar still work for 7 ? if so he'd be another i'd imagine

who else would be in the mix ?

Nick Gill ??

Speculation out there that the team may not include anyone who has called SANFL for many years. Not sure if SANFL themselves having any say in on-air roles, given how much they contribute financially.

As has been suggested before, it would be very disappointing if that eventuated...

No doubt Soders will be involved, which is good because of his knowledge of the competition...

Time will tell, but will be very interesting indeed...

Jarman is coaching in the Hills, so his availability would presumably be somewhat restricted.

Kym Morgan was decent with the ABC last year, he could be a contender.

Solders would perhaps be a definite.

As for whoever else, perhaps a few who have had some sort of connection with ch7 - perhaps Graham Cornes, Abernethy, McDermott maybe.

Then maybe others in the media who aren't tied to a particular tv station - Ginever, Wildy, Dittmar (I don't think he's still at 7).

Jarman won't, Lachlan is correct on that as to why.

Lewis's Triple M contract will also restrict him being available, along with no real interest to do so.

Soderstrom is a definite, that will be confirmed shortly. A possible surprise contender who has not called SANFL for many years, but has called football very recently, may emerge shortly.

Highly unlikely that the others will be "known SANFL people", based on word on the street. A great shame for many who have demonstrated their ability in the past.

K.G? But not sure that would be too much of a surprise if it was.

Was really hoping we might see C.K get a gig.

Who from the list of commentators who covered the SANFL in 1980s/90'on various networks, would still be young enough to fo it now?

Perhaps Peter Marker (although probably wouldnt be interested thse days due to his law career), David McKay.

Mark Aiston and Kym Dillon committed to other networks.

Others such as Ian Day, Ian Aitken and perhaps KG, would be too old.

wasn't Ian Day a commentator on the ABCTV telecast of a match a few years ago when another commentator was ill ? i have a recollection it was at Unley Oval, obviously it was to fill in for the day

don't be surprised if Ray Fewings is in the mix
