Re: Cricket - First Class 2013/14
TA 3/403 declared
104 Cosi
149 Doolan
85* Ponting
SA 224
85 Ludeman
6/49 Butterworth
SA 149
37 Hughes
4/40 Butterworth
1/2 Cosi !!!
TA win by an innings + 30 runs
No doubt TA had the better of the conditions
Day 1 it was dry and then it was overcast and rainy on days 2 +3
Butterworth 10/89 [41] is dangerous in these conditions
SA need to look at not playing 2 spinners in all future Adelaide Oval matches
Lyon and Botha in the same team , is not the right balance
Still no Peter George, has not played as yet, maybe he is the answer

the redbacks go down in a close game last night. But they were in a position where they shouldnt have lost!

Sturt won their last game of footy, the Redbacks won tonight and in between snow fell in the Adelaide hills in October so I guess the age of miracles is not yet passed.

SA V QL
Adelaide Oval
SA 9/402
164 Ferg who said he couldnt make first innings runs
Cutting 3/75 a star, why he was not picked to play in the SA V QL Ryobi Cup game is a mystery
QL 406
129 Townsend
116 Burns a star player
4/81 Christian
SA 225
71 Christian
QL 6/129
33 Kemp
3/36 Worrall is capable of anything , a real talent
Very close but not quite, and thats about 19 games in a row in the SS without maximum points
Declaring in the first dig proved costly
Calling the game off with about 3 overs to go was baffling
Playing 2 off spinners is not the right balance [both teams]
Ferg made his highest SS score, beating his previous best of 132
Miller made his highest score in the SS as well with 33
SS
Ladder
12 VI
8 TA
8 NS
8 QL
0 SA
0 WA
NS + WA have played 2 games the other 3
It looks a 4 team comp at this stage, the Vics the team to beat
Ryobi Cup
6 VI
5 SA
4 NS
4 TA
4 WA
0 QL
NS + TA have played 1 game, the others 2 games
Perennial SS muffers SA are a chance to win this comp , again
I think VI will host the final , all other teams capable of making the final

Alex Doolan career
9 innings
2071 runs
36.98
4 centurys
The 149 he made in this game is Doolans highest SS score
Doolan joins a select group
When reaching his 50 and 100, he hit sixes to get to the milestones
I wonder how many SS cricketers have achieved this rarity ?

Great news!
SA v Tassie:
SA First innings have brought up the hundred.
And only 8 wickets down.

Correct Punter is out but believe Cazzulino is going to bat in his place.
Must be a change of rule that you can repalce an injured player.

If that is the case then I don't like it.
Open to abuse.
Consider the bowling angle.
You pick 4 quicks, but day 4 starts to take spin big time.
You have made the spinner 12th man and one of the quicks has a sudden onset of Dehli Belly, (despite having crumbed fish for dinner ) and you possibly have a game turning tweaker at your disposal.
These decisions are what captains and selectors have faced for generations. Surely that is part of the game and part of the development of a captain too? And part of the interest in the risk management of striving for team balance.
Just subbing in and out players in the domestic comp, doesn't prepare people for the mindset of international cricket in my view.
What next? Player rotations!!!!
Would like to know more about the extent of this new rule.

I would think it's because Ponting has pulled out to prepare for the Test match. The rule is in place to enable players to elevate to a higher level at little or no inconvenience to the team he's playing for.
Obviously there is a clause that covers injury as well.

TAS 2/9 chasing 212.
Cazzulino made a duck so it didn't matter.
