Great idea Bayman
Day/night cricket is something you told me that should happen , years ago
Gives the workers a chance to watch cricket
But the timing is strange
Should have been done earlier in the season ?

This season is starting to resemble last year for SA. If we can get an outright in one of the last two games we can be in the final, if not host it. If we can't, then we could end up 2nd bottom.

Disappointing to read that should SA win the right to host the final it will be played at Glenelg.
I would've thought a shield final to commission the newly completed AO would be far more appropriate than a Rolling Stones concert. I understand that the clash can't really be avoided, but it's a real shame that things have panned out this way.

why are people so against this ? if NSW host the final it wont be played at the SCG, it'll be played at the Olympic stadium because major league baseball is on & i stand corrected but i haven't heard or read any complaints about that...btw i haven't got a problem that Glenelg aren't allowed to train on the bay oval until the redbacks are out of contention or after the final, if we're good enough we'll still play good footy anyway, i actually go to some shield matches & believe me not too many go & there are more voices against this than actually go to the games

SCG
or
SBG
Cannot believe Baseball takes precedence to a Cricket game at the SCG
CA might be barracking for WA to finish top

Anyone know if the final is being televised? Usually on Fox but so was the one day stuff. Final on 9/GEM maybe?

I don't think anyone's got a problem with it being played at Glenelg - I think people are just disappointed about it not being played at Adelaide Oval.
But you are right, this does happen every year really. I read an article yesterday that was lamenting the fact that there will be no AFL at the MCG in Round 1 because of the off chance that the shield final might have been played there had the Vics done alright - so someone complaining the opposite way! Can't win!

NSW have a long tail, the late wicket may've swung the pendulum back a bit......WA getting belted, last score i heard was 7/149 after QLD made nearly 400 (391 from memory)

NSW 9/207
So close to winning but we get nothing out of the match. A win and we were guaranteed a spot in the final.

I think that's three games in a row where we've been well on top but run out if time.
Botha obviously bowled very well, but I really wonder if he overbowls himself a lot. Sayers only bowls 10 overs, gets 2 wickets.

r&b, i've said & posted it before he is selfish he bowls way too much, as if he hasn't any confidence in anyone else to do the job, i actually made comments tonight out loud for him to hear, when the new ball was due & taken have a guess who bowled, i was again yelling out about a new ball is for fast bowlers etc, he took himself off the next over & low & behold ended up bowling at the southern end, as the players came off i & my son both yelled out he was selfish & he looked straight at me & i said yes you are selfish, others in the vicinity were agreeing, Hazlewood while not scoring he had control of Botha for well over an hour, infact i was saying this is the best naught i've ever seen & he finally ended up with a few runs, we don't deserve to win when the captain is all for himself

Interesting, Bayman, I think you're right to tell him.
I've been meaning to post about it for a long time.

Re: Cricket - First Class 2013/14
Botha was only cited on the following offences
Swearing on the field
Insulting language
Offensive language
Ignoring repeated calls from Bayman not to over bowl himself ?
Disputing an umpire decision ?
Constant complaining over the state of a cricket ball
1 game suspension
Perhaps the SACA should fly Bayman to Hobart !
He can captain the side from the boundary !

yep, about 12 months ago, in a game against Victoria (i think it was) we had one bowler injured & we were trying to bowl them out on the fourth day, Botha bowled all day from one end & late in the day he had a rest & bowled from the other end the very next over (2 over break), when they weren't getting wickets, i think try something different it may or may not work but at least try something different, that's my philosophy in any sport & changing ends is not being different
happy to help the SACA if they wish but M.Klinger is a very good captain & to be brutally lost should never have lost the captaincy

SA 6/117 - were 5/39, McDonald kinda rescuing us.
WA all out 82 vs NSW

Re: Cricket - First Class 2013/14
All out 212, Jackson Bird 6/50.
At least it should now be an outright result. If NSW beat WA outright, we then need Queensland to lose? I think they're on top of Victoria right now, though.

SA trail by 69 runs, with still 4 wickets to get.
Can't allow more than another 30 or 40 runs.
Sayers has 4 for.
