Re: Cricket - First Class 2013/14
''drop in pitches'' makes no difference so far to the usually big scoring ground

Hopefully it will have a bit more life for the test or it could be a snore fest. You want a bit of a battle between ball and bat

How was the outfield looking Chambo?Chambo Off To Work We Go wrote:Was down there this morning for a look see.
It is looking quite given where it was a month ago.
You wouldn't have given 10c toward a bet for a shield game this week.

It looked ok to me, but you'd need to get much closer to see any imperfections where the layers meet.
I think they're anticipating an 8 out of 10 for the test match now.

Incredible really what can be achieved in such a short timeframe with roll out turf these days.

It was explained to me that they can push it together very tightly, so there is no movement.
Whilst they may be more fussy for cricket, it would be 100% for footy I reckon.
Another 4 weeks and it would have been the full monty.

TA 291
SA 397
TA 7/390 DEC
SA 5/208
Cooper 74*
Ludeman *
SA needed 78 runs
WA needed 5 wickets
The game was called off
Question
Why didn't WA bowl the last 12 balls ?
Why give up ?
The only time I would call it off as the WA skipper is with 4 balls to go.

a short time ago the Vics were 5/235 a lead of 10 runs....the commentators on the ABC suggested the Vics bat down to 8 then have three number 11's

Bayman Jimmy Keays would be in his element
5 wickets left
A lead of 10 runs
Jimmy well , he's a five ten man himself !

Marcus North made 4 in the first innings of the WA V QL match
There was a family tragedy forcing North to pull out of this game
He was replaced by Luke Towers
Towers made a golden duck in the WA 2nd innings
Talk about no luck

SA will be TOP tomorrow sometime
3 away games 18 points gained[when they make the 95 runs required]
3 home games 4 points gained, and 2 to the opposition
I say let the Strolling Bones play at Adelaide Oval !
SA need to play on fair pitches, not the roads our curators keep dishing up
