That would severely affect Central as far as lack of height goes, wouldn't it Phil?

That is correct, about Parry, I believe. Is a 1 game suspension away from being de-registered from playing any footy, at all.

A JOKE

Well, he has had something like 15 games out suspended over the course of his whole senior career. That's almost a whole season missed via suspension !!! You do the crime, you do the time. If you can't learn the lesson, then the punishment has to be extreme...

why does it in your words have ''to be extreme'' ? (each case as with the law should be separate)

if he 'clocks' someone, he gets 3 or 4 or whatever not a life sentence, imho it isn't the right thing to do.....it is almost like New York (i think it's New York) with the 3 strikes penalty with crime & your locked up for good

I can see both sides to the argument, Bayman. If 'serial' offenders keep on doing the wrong thing, how else are they going to learn?

lengthier penalties, every club would not put up with players (no matter how good or pivotal they are) being sidelined for a fair chunk of the season

I'm with bayman on this. Each case should be treated on its merits. And I still have trouble coming to terms with the fact that if you try to defend your actions and the tribunal doesn't like your defence, you suddenly become more guilty, and get another game. Who thought that up?

North Acting Co-Captain Todd Miles is going to challenge the tribunal's 1 match suspension handed down, earlier...

on the SANFL site, Zac Milbank wrote:

The Roosters challenge of Todd Miles' 1 week ban was successful and he is free to play against Sturt on Saturday...

in a tweet, the SANFL wrote:
@SANFLnews: @NorthAdelaideFC Todd Miles has been found Not Guilty by the SANFL Tribunal and is free to play this weekend.

That is good news for the Roosters, as Miles will be needed this week against an in-form Double Blues...

Depends on whether the CDFC accept the 3 weeks or fight it?
At a guess, prior to this current report, I would suggest he would be at about 8 or 9 weeks in total?

The league penalties seem fair enough to me, however, given the recent poor behaviour of various North Adelaide runners over the past couple of seasons, the SANFL should be considering handing the club a fine as well, or at the very least a warning to the club that any subsequent runner altercations will result in heavy sanctions against the club and/or the suspension of the runner (ie a week where North has no runner).

Thompson very lucky to be only getting one IMO.

apparently

to be honest the incident was over 100 metres from me, from there i thought it was 2 blokes going for the ball & the Sturt player came off worse for wear, however he was obviously concussed with blood coming out presumably from his nose as he was helped from the arena, if the replay shows he raised his arm/elbow etc then yep throw the book at him..............for the record both teams in the first half were niggling, punching & at times being spiteful etc & off the ball & it settled down a fair bit after half time
