HFL fans - feel free to discuss the seasons in Central and Country Division in these threads. Look forward to knowing what is going on in both leagues, particularly with my long connection to Country Division

How have Torrens Valley been travelling in their first year for some time without former coach Garry Hughes?

Two good finals last weekend.
Uraidla beat Lobethal in the Qualifying Final by 3 points.
Hahndorf defeated Onkaparinga Valley by 2 points in the Elimination Final.

Uraidla take on Mt Barker in the Second Semi this weekend the Roos should win this in a close contest.
It will be interesting to see how Lobey go this week it is their first finals series in quite a while and could be bundled out in straight sets.

Grand Final result

Uraidla 10.12
Mt Barker 7.13

Uraidla have won 4 of the last 5 Grand Finals and take revenge on their loss to Mt Barker last year.

Yes it was a surprise Mt Barker had only lost one game all year and that was to Onkas. They had also won straight through to the GF beating Uraidla in the 2nd Semi.
When we played them during the year I would have said Mt Barker were a better team.

Mount Barker they were a younger, faster and more skilled team. But Sutherland coaches Uraidla for the Finals and they were really going at the end of the season they are a bigger, nastier and older team.

Echunga have applied to go up to Central Division next year. This is due to the sad state in the Junior’s in the Country Division. This will mean that Mt Lofty would be sent to the Country Division and have been asked to provide a response as to why they shouldn’t.
They are currently looking at options of SAAFL and Southern Football League as they too would have their juniors decimated in Country.
