Agree, the crows are keeping the players they want and are becoming a club of interest for free agents. Given that apart from Thommo there isn't any senior players due to retire soon the Crows may be building for a few years of success by keeping the squad together.

Yep, I agree. Very excited about this year and the next few.

A few AFL commentators drool over the Hawthorn exceptional skill level
Yes Hawthorn are very good skill wise
My opinion is that Adelaides skill level this season is just as good , maybe even slightly better
Eddie Betts and Cyril Rioli are freaky
Just who is the better footballer is a matter of opinion

Apparently Ben Jarman looks like he'll be headed to Hawthorn next year rather than Adelaide.
That is according to his uncle Andrew though who doesn't have a great track record with reporting facts.
Word is Adelaide isn't that keen on burning a high draft pick for him.

i wouldn't be 'burning' a high draft pick either, however if it is a father/son why should they (Adelaide or Hawthorn) have to give anything up for him ?

I'd suggest he was probably going to be delisted at the end of this year. May stay on as captain of the reserves side perhaps?? Wouldn't surprise.

He lead the club through some pretty dark times. I have a lot of respect for him as a person. As a footballer, he probably sums up what was wrong about the priorities of the Craig era - when athletes were recruited before footballers.

They all recruit athletes rather than footballers, blokes like Greg Williams & Andrew Jarman would hardly get a look in these days, because they couldn't jump a certain height, failed beep tests etc etc

There is only 1 beep test Jars would win and that occurs on radio.

Excellent recognition for his work over the last couple of years. Very glad he's our captain.
I actually think this year he's actually sacrificed his own individual game completely for the betterment of the team. He seems to be focused on playing his role - maintaining the on field structure, dishing the odd goal off and providing a target when needed - but doesn't try and win the game off his own boot.

One of the most unlikely trades on paper, but boy would he be a handy addition!
Ricciuto was fairly coy about it all on the radio this morning. I get the vibe that Adelaide are definitely in the market to pull of a big trade this trade period. Whether that's Martin or not we'll wait and see.

David Noble off to Brisbane.
The Dustin Martin rumour has been dismissed by the club, but the rumour of Tom Rockliff coming still remains. I reckon this one sounds viable.

He's an All-Australian midfielder. Absolutely worth the punt IMO, especially given our recent injury/player management record.
Besides, I doubt there's many alternatives out there who fulfil the need we have for another big bodied mid. They don't exactly grow on trees.

Lowden was probably on the cards they used the other talk when Jacobs was injured

Not surprised with either.
Don't think Ramsay truly fitted in with the club culture (given his social media trolling of the club prior to his drafting), and Lowden was third in line for the ruck.

I was a touch surprised by both TBH. I thought Ramsay showed a bit on occasion, and without Lowden we now only had 2 ruckmen on the list. Risky - they must be looking at securing the services of another over the off season.
Congratulations also to Rory Sloane on winning his second gold jacket. Well deserved. By the end of his career he will be up there with the greats of the Adelaide Football Club.

Bryce Gibbs has requested a trade home to Adelaide. Will be interesting to see if/how the deal gets done, but personally I think he fits the bill for what we need in the midfield. Another experienced head with an elite kick, had a cracking year this year also.
Just hope we don't sell the farm for him.

Doesn't answer our need for speed and his salary is high. Might need to trade a midfielder out - I'd rather lose Mackay then Lyons.Gingernuts wrote:Bryce Gibbs has requested a trade home to Adelaide. I think further development from existing names on our list will actually address our speed issues. Cameron, Milera, Seedsman, Knight all names that immediately spring to mind.
