Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory @ Adelaide oval 17/10/2014
Going to my first red's game tonight with my daughter who has come down from QLD who wants to see what all the fuss is about the Adelaide oval..
Anyway, should be a good night for it and i'm surprised at the cost for general admission .... $30. Not sure if it cost more because it's at Adelaide Oval, but if that's the normal entry fee even at Hindmarsh as well, i guess i won't be attending many more games.
Go you Reds.
Probably see a bit of this on the way out i suppose..

I'm sure you will have a good night FB, the game is live on SBS.
Unfortunately there are a few troublemakers in the crowd from both sides and they seem to somehow think it is ok to act like yobbos.

$30.00 for a round 2 soccer match versus $72.00 for 4 T20 matches later in the year, i know what is better value

Wasn't a bad night..the crowd was more entertaining than the game up until the first goal was scored.. Lots of flares going off at both ends of the ground.. my only complaint was sitting on the eastern side wing, the game was too far away, the boundary was bout 25 meters in from the fence. I spent more time watching the big screen instead of the live action. But not a bad night out in perfect weather and a record crowd of over 33,000.

FB, was the pitch centred on the oval or was it over to the western side?

FB, the problem with playing a game of soccer outside of a soccer stadium is that the dimentions just don't fit.
The size of a soccer pitch is much smaller than the size of an oval the size of Adelaide Oval and so the spectators view will always be further away.

Yes Chambo, the pitch was centered on the oval, i was actually surprised in how small the soccer pitch was, looks a lot bigger on tv.Chambo Off To Work We Go wrote:FB, was the pitch centred on the oval or was it over to the western side?

You forgot the $6.15 processing fee too (for the privilege of having the ticket sent to your mobile phone).
Very dull game bar the last 10 minutes on the pitch - the highlight of the first 80 minutes was watching a group of people being ejected at about the 60 minute mark. Off the pitch, well I think both active areas will be in a bit of hot water (particularly the 50 or so Victory supporters in their active area that jumped the fence after their goal).

That's a relief.
Spent a lot of time making sure the holes for the goal posts were in the right place.
