Mush as I would love to see Beech in tigers colours, it is good that he has gone back to Westies.

Good result for Westies, the comp and hopefully Johno himself. Happy with how that's worked out (until he beats us next season haha)

Sturt have signed Rory Taggert (played in 2014/2015 for the Blues) and Sam Dunn (ex CDFC U18 Ruckman)

Brett Eddy OUT of SANFL for 2018.
Wont be returning to South.
Playing for Vermont in Victoria.
Personally, a disappointing end to any true South fans dream of a return to the club in 2018.

sad for South, i thought he'd be at Noarlunga for sure after seeing him at South games this year when the Power Reserves weren't playing at the same time, the only positive for South is at least he isn't going to be playing against them

Hopefully a good acquisition for the Bays - Good for the comp in general that a club can still attract such a known player

yep, agreed, however i think the fact that Mark Stone & Jesse White were together at Sydney for a few years was a big factor in his decision to join the bays' i'm very happy to have him, about a month ago i was very disillusioned about what the whole situation (football wise) at the club, in the last week or so i have a renewed enthusiasm & are somewhat excited about the oncoming season.........without name dropping one regular league player told me that ''he's (the coach) been very impressive''

I don't know anything about Mark Stone, but looking at his CV he's been around a while in AFL coaching circles. In being part of the Sydney set-up, like Matter, I wonder if their game styles will be similar at least in some aspects.

Former Central District and Crows SANFL top up player Brock Castree doing a pre-season with North Adelaide.
Brock's Uncle is Rick Magowan who obviously played League footy for both the Dogs and Roosters.
Brock played in the SAAFL in 2017 at PAOC under former Bays player Brett Backwell.
If Brock's knee isn't giving him grief any longer, could be a handy midfielder.

Central Districts have secured the services of ex VFL and Colac midfielder Brody Mahoney.

A little bit, yes. Perhaps the competition Colac were in aren't yet filming their games.
Feedback from those who saw him play live and along side him was enough for the club to proceed further.

Re: Ins and Outs 2018
A couple of points.
It often depends on who is recommending him and that's frequently enough.
In a hypothetical situation, if Alistair Clarkson told a SANFL club that a player would be good at SANFL level, that would be good enough for me.
Besides, Roy's coaching record is enough for most to trust his judgement.
Often recruits from lower leagues are only on match payments, so there's no cost or risk in bringing a player over to see if he succeeds.

Really good point, Lee.
Obviously if they end up turning out to be capable at League level, it is a bonus.

Re: Ins and Outs 2018
Did Virgin jump or was he pushed. He has not made the league squad in the trials and would only be a fringe player at best. He did seem to be a good team man though.
The interesting twist in all of this is that his father is the club president.

Re: Ins and Outs 2018
Yes, his father Lee is a very nice bloke. I'm sure he would leave football decisions to the Coach, so the reason Michael has left will be known soon and I'm sure is just a normal football decision by Michael.

If the SANFL dont look into it then the other clubs need to ask why.
