Good to see that there are still some passionate SANFL people around to produce material focussing on the league, without a big pay packet to do so.

Re: Thursday Night SANFL Show - 1197am RPH Adelaide
i hope you ask the coaches of the ''new teams'' whether they'll be making moves on players getting beating in one on one contests or leaving them in the same positions for experience
eg if a defender has 3 or 4 goals kicked on him in the first quarter will you make a move or let them stay on the same opponent for experience ?
i hope they ask a question like this but i doubt they will

Hey Folks,
Due to the #SANFL season kicking off this Thursday night, there will be no #SANFL show this coming week. Coff and I will be back on the airwaves and into the full swing of it next Thursday, the 10th of April.
Stay tuned in the next couple of days for our Round 1 tips. I have to get one back on Coff, who defeated me in the Footy Tipping competition in season 2013 by just 1 vote.
Don't forget, RPH will be calling the Glenelg v Sturt game on Friday night and then the Eagles v Central game on Saturday. Tune in to hear up to 3 games a weekend this season on 1197am RPH Adelaide.
Cheers,
Phil Aspinall

Will be listening with intent on the Chris Davies interview. Would hope its centred around the impact of the AFL teams on the SANFL competition, and if there is any suggestion an AFL reserves comp has been discussed and if they feel any changes will be made on this years set up

Any particular reason the North and West guests are ex-Centrals players, Phil?

Just happens to be the way the cards fell, redandblack. Why's that, mate?redandblack wrote:Any particular reason the North and West guests are ex-Centrals players, Phil?
We decided to have a 'theme' of Key Forwards for the next couple of weeks and, in regards to this weeks' guest list, see below:
Michael Newton from Norwood, is in good form and was a no-brainer...
I did have Bryce Retzlaff from Central teed up but he was a late omission and with the Dogs not really having any other key forwards, the in-form Tom Collier was the easy choice replacement...
North have big Luke Mitchell, who we spoke to a few weeks back when we had the 'new recruits' theme so I had to look at another key forward option from the Roosters. Todd Miles was on the show when we did the 'Captains' theme and he plays at both ends of the ground. Young Alex Barnes has been in and out of the Reserves and also spends some time in the ruck.
Alan Obst, whilst out injured at the moment, seemed the next logical choice. Yes, he is a former Central player, but is also a current North player and a key forward to boot.
Brett Eddy - a 'no-brainer' and we did try and get him on the show a few weeks back but was N/A
Justin Hardy - At the moment, and as has been the case since big Adam Richardson was in the Bloods jumper, West have a limited array of key forwards to speak to. Tom Keough would have been a good one to speak to, but we had him on the show a fortnight ago when going with the 'in form' theme, while Tom was carving it up as a key defender. Jonno Beech is not really a key forward and, as you know r&b, spent a lot of time in defence last week. Looking to keep Beechy up our sleeves as a guest for later in the season.
Whilst he is recovering from a long-term knee injury, Justin Hardy was selected as Coff and I thought it would be good to have a chat with him as a 'new recruit' and a 'key forward'. It was either going to be Justin or Mason Middleton, also out with a knee complaint, as you know, but in the end we went with the big man from Ballarat.
So, as I say, it just so happened to fall that way tonight, mate, with a pretty strong Central District connection, including the two hosts, who both wore the red, white and blue at some level
Long winded, I know, but I hope that explains it for you

No worries, at all, mate. I knew that it looked to be a very 'Central orientated show' but that wasn't done intentionally, just happened to fall that way.redandblack wrote:No worries, Phil, thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed reply.

Interesting that West and Glenelg presumably have no indigenous players in their league team this week, hence Anthony Wilson and Matt Campbell.
Fair enough, too, but remember that you owe us one, though, Phil
Your mate Marksy would have been good, though, following his Governor's Award for the work he does with the community.
