I'm sure it was. Much different to the manufactured and boring 'confrontations' some praise.

Australia currently 2/205 off 35.
I'm calling a total of 371.

Australia finished on 7/328
Mitch Johnsons' 27 off 9 balls & 40 from the last 3 overs got Australia out of some trouble....i think it is just a par score but the pressure will win Australia the game

Re: 2015 O.D.I World Cup
1915 Australia and New Zealand fought side by side as the Anzacs
2015 Australia and New Zealand play in a World Cup
Bit unfair to have NZ playing the final at the MCG ?
This is the 2nd time the 2 countries have been hosts [1992 the last time]
MCG was the finals venue in 1992
It should have been NZ turn this time , if everything is fair and square
The almighty $ decrees the final is played at the MCG ?
I will tip Australia
I think our bowlers will bowl a lot of short stuff at the Kiwis in stages
The wide boundaries will be hard to clear , unlike the small Eden Park ground
NZ are capable of winning but might have to MAINLY rely on McCullum and Boult performing well to win
AU have 11 players who can perform , that depth could be the winning factor
Current Betting
$1-44 Australia
$3-00 New Zealand
Odds look about right to me

The ICC played this World Cup out nicely.
The final leads into the pool matches of the next World Cup!

Clarke couldn't have written the script any better for his ODI epitaph.
Almost a foretelling also of the new heir apparent, Smith.
I don't think a bloke could have done much more this summer to say "give me the job".
Pity the total wasn't a little more challenging to make it a little more exciting, but that is sport.
Huge increase in batting strike rate for the tournament compared to previous World Cups. Nearly 10 runs. Certainly the influence of 20/20 there.
So if ODIs are going to be played at this frenetic batting pace, will it reinvigorate this format? Certainly won't hurt it. However, there seems to be a consensus amongst the commentators that something needs to be done to assist the bowlers too.
Interesting therefore, that the Player of the Tournament went to a bowler, Starc who had extraordinary stats.

Starc's opening over was extraordinary.
Many commentators were mentioning the possibility of letting the bowlers bowl as many overs as they like within the 50 as an antidote to the current batting advantages. I don't mind that call to be honest.

He's turned into 'that old fella', desperate to get in on the action and relive past glories. Haha.
Did anyone here the boys on Triple M this morning? Roo rang Boof at about 7:30 this morning and they ended up with George Bailey & James Faulkner on the phone, still kicking on. Was very amusing.

Reckon he was prompting for an invite to the party.
Yeah he was pretty ordinary on TV.
