CREAM
A magnificent band of the late 60s

1968
Beatles had a $ma$h hit with Hey Jude
I can recall watching Hey Jude on the TOP 40 charts
It was top for a long long time
Then it was not
It was replaced by White Room by the Cream
A family member bought the song
I listened to the song that took over numero uno from the fab4 , and loved it at first hear !

And there is an old old saying
'The Cream always rises to the top'

Liza Goddard was adoreable

Alvins first wife was Iris Caldwell
Third  time lucky for Iris, she dated Paul McCartney and George Harrison , b4 getting the ring on Alvins finger

They were one of the greatest bands around for the very short time that they were together ("66 to 68")
Whiteroom is still one of my all time favourites and remember when it hit the number one spot of the top 40 here in Adelaide late in 1968.

This is off subject
But in those times I played a lot of junior footy against Kilburn
The Kilburn players would egg each other on , and acknowledge each other as Chickys
Not until years later did I find out about Chickys

Kilburn decades earlier was called Chicago
Chicago had a poor reputation in America with gangsters crime etc
Chicago was re-named Kilburn

Thats how the football nick name came about
Chickys was about Chicago
