All clubs rest players in the early rounds and hope they can get through. East Fremantle also left several first choice players home. Just on East Fremantle I think they are being undervalued by many. They played some good football.

East Fremantle underestimated the opposition
They sent over an under strength team , and it appears that they rested over a half a dozen players
East Fremantle has also appeared not to pay enough respect to the Norwood Football Club , & indeed the competition
That East Fremantle barely won this match is most likely an indictment of their selection policies

East Fremantle also travelled half way across the country on Tuesday after playing on Saturday, I think this says more than there selection policy. Well done to them IMO.

i didn't play Mr Booney so i don't have to care or not care (i think ''care'' is the word you mean)....personally i think the concept this year is better than it was, however as a pre season comp it would be a better option & you'd understand not playing senior players, in this form i agree that you wouldn't play the likes of Zorzi & Warren, but blokes like Dawe (ok conditions last night wouldn't have suited him, but generally speaking) should be given that opportunity to show his talent on a more national stage (not a better quality competition though) which could help them get drafted, anyway if our (SANFL) sides keep getting beaten in these games for whatever reason there is no way we can legitimately say we're the best State league competition going around
Mr Scrappy, tongue obviously firmly planted in cheek

As pointed out to me by Norwood people the likely omission of Dawe was because they have already lost Clarke for the year Boulderstone is out injured and Luccon is out injured. So that leaves Dawe as their sole ruckman. Probably didnt want to take the risk.

Just as a side to the game, I believe that at least 2 of the umpires, and possibly all 3, umpired reserves last weekend. Does this mean that they all put in stellar performances in the reserves that got them back onto the national stage, or does the umpiring department put a higher priority on putting their top level umpires in the Foxtel Cup rather than umpiring SANFL League?
