i haven't gone down as i didn't realized it started at 5.30pm, looking at the early score does a trial game like this help either of the teams ? i don't think it helps either team, they both should be playing against teams in their respective competitions

A waste of time. Just goes to show the gap between AFL and SANFL. And that was just the power failure, imagine if they played something that resembles a football team.

At the other end of the spectrum, I wouldn't mind SANFL clubs taking on some SAAFL Div 1 or 2 clubs as trial games.
The scores might be the same as the above in some cases, but at least it may be a worthwhile community initiative.

The Magpies would have played maybe half a dozen players with League experience. The rest were just kids.

Which suggests to me that the interest in Port is still there, but the AFL charges too much for many families to attend their games once the real stuff starts.

Worrying signs early for the Double Blues, looks like Michael Coad may have dislocated his shoulder. It doesn't look good, but let's hope it is not worse case sceanrio...
