Re: Port Adelaide
Kevin Foley was definitely "in" as Port Adelaide President 2 days ago ... now he's not interested. Typical politician, unable to make up their minds. Let's face it Kevin, you only saw it as an avenue to keep your face in the media and Keith Thomas saw through your BS a mile away.

I'm watching the 3rd quarter of the Port v Brisbane game and Port are going OK.
I have to ask, though, is Darren Pfeiffer, a good player at SANFL level, one of the worst AFL players at this stage of his career?
I hope he improves with more games.

Interesting developments at Alberton...
David Koch as Chairman. Ken Hinkley as coach.
IMO they've done well to finally look outside the perimeters of Alberton Oval and bring in these two. It was good common sense to not rush out and get Eade or Ratten - I think they've had their time in senior figurehead roles.
Monfries - a good recruit?

Re: Port Adelaide
There were big wraps on Monfries when he was first recruited if I remember rightly, but he has failed to live up to that hype to a certain degree.
That said he is still relatively young, and I think he is certainly worth giving a second chance, particulary for the bargain basement price that Port managed to get him for. A good get for Port I reckon.
As for the changes at the top, they all seem pretty good too. I agree with your thoughts on Eade in particular as well, he's had enough bites of the cherry now and while he does know how to make a team finals contenders he hasn't been able to get anyone the chocolates. His time is done as a senior coach IMO.

Re: Port Adelaide
I would have David Koch as Chairman at the AFC no problems at all, i would expect that he would be relocating to SA though and as Eddie suggests the expectation is that he would be at all games and I would add club functions.
Monfries will likely do quite well at Port, he is a handy young player and the change of environment will likely draw him out of his shell somewhat. A good pick up for Port if it comes through.

David Koch has got off to a good start, by taking a shot at the AFL. I remember Jeff Kennett doing that, and the Hawks have got nothing from the AFL ever since.

Kochy is doing what he is meant to do, get more exposure on the national stage for the PAFC. Not every bit is going to be positive, but he is getting our "name in lights".

I think Kochy is a good appointment and I agree with Booney.
I've never got involved in posting about Port and I have a strong opinion about their new attitude towards the Magpies, but for the sake of the PAFC in the AFL, I hope he succeeds.

Not just the PAFC in the AFL mate, a strong PAFC at all levels is good for football in South Australia.
Keep kicking us while we are down and nothing will get better for anyone.

It's hardly kicking while you're down, Booney.
I'm just trying to hold them to account to keep to the terms of their Licence Agreement with the SANFL and not gain unfair advantage, as was promised.
Apart from that, I'm on record constantly as agreeing that we need a strong Port Adelaide.

Re: Port Adelaide
It's kind of similar to my dislike of Man Utd and Liverpool in the EPL. I want to beat them everytime, but know the league would not be of the same standard if they weren't a part of it. Having someone to dislike is all part of the fun.
With some shame though, I admit that I come from a strong Port Adelaide family (my father the exception). I want to see them strong again to make our victories against them all the more sweeter!
They have to play by the rules though and not conveniently 'forget' about some of the clauses in place.

Westies Port players attended training and the club on Monday night, Booney.
Ben Newton looking good, be nice if Robbie Gray played a game or two at Westies, but he'd probably go straight in.

Renault announced as new Joint major partner of the PAFC.
Good to have a big brand name back on board, I hope they bring some significant $pon$orship with them!!

A good move for Port and also a good move for the SANFL in general, Kochie seems to be very much making every post a winner so far in his career at Port!

Port are 30,000 members strong already and want to have a crack at 40,000 this year. I hope those numbers translate into crowds.

Jackson Trengove has a broken metatarsal that will be operated on today.
Until the operation is done there will be no indication on how long he will be out of the game.
Hurts us a bit there.
