About West chasing them originally, I mean.
I can assure you it is.
Might have only been an initial enquiry, but there was some form of interest.

Okay, not what I was told by someone who coached them (DM + TM) but that's okay.

I think you’ll find Brett Turner is an out for West too

Brett Turner may just be too much like some of the new players coming in and not a loss.bayman wrote:I think you’ll find Brett Turner is an out for West too
I was just having a laugh after some of Lee's comments about the Eagles recruiting. I think there are at least 12 recruits there for West. But good on them.
Lee wrote:There's no anger, just surprise at how sensitive a few Eagles' fans are at an obvious topic of discussion.
There's no comparison with West. We're a long way off right now and it will take time, so we're at opposite ends of the spectrum.
To argue that it's about 10 out and 9 in, rather than small money out and big money in is very simplistic and disingenuous.
Play on.

Would you seriously like to line up the cost of the ins and outs at each club?
Most of West's recruits, bar one, are country or Tasmanian league players.
One AFL player in, one out (Willsmore).
Six of the rest wouldn't equal one of the Menzels payments.
And it just supports my original argument that its not numbers, but payments that count.

Maybe check your sources on the so called Menzels payment my sources say less money than what they earned at Centrals . But hey

A couple of things:
1. You wouldn't know either, but the vast majority of SANFL followers would agree that recruits from the Riverina League wouldn't be paid as much as the Menzels.
2. I have no wish to debate someone as aggressive as you usually are, but happy to if we engage reasonably.

Lee I gather your comment isn’t to me .
I had zero idea about the Menzel brothers until someone closer to the Eagles told me exactly what happened to bring them to the eagles .
I have no idea what they are being paid except I’ve been told less than they got at Centrals
How they got to the Eagles was very interesting
I can’t print exactly what I’ve been told but let’s just say the Eagles didn’t chase them .

Your statement "You wouldn't know either" infers you don't know as well. I don't know why you keep on harping about it. Only the player/players along with club administrators would know. Your assumptions and theories might be applicable in some cases but if you don't know the overall situation your statements and inferences are absolute rubbish.

You seem to be very selective in what you choose to compare. A better comparison would be J. Beech, K Lovell and T. Murphy to the Menzel brothers plus I'll chuck in Riley Knight.

Using your logic you wouldn't know, in which case you can't know whether Lee's statements are rubbish or not.
Anyway, no one has claimed to have proof of anything. It's a footy forum, people express opinions on it.

Just to change the topic back to West Adelaide
You mentioned footy forum and people’s opinions
On another Forum a former West player Turner I think his name is left West and joins the bays next year .
Talk on the other forum he was not offered enough money
Any idea if that’s true guys

I believe he wasn't offered enough money for his liking, yes. He has had an inflated opinion of his value for some time. I'm tipping that sometime 12-24 months from now the Bays might question whether he was worth the transfer fee.

Re: West Adelaide all things 2021
Well, I can confidently confirm Flag No 10s statements about Brett Turner.
I wish him well. He's a good lad and his best football is also good, when it's seen.
I do know, without fear of being contradicted by Feathers, that Brett's judgement of his correct pay scale is far in excess of what all others would judge it to be.
Hence his decision to move.
I support the Club in its reasonable offer to him.
