South v Glenelg
Friday 30 March
Hickinbotham Oval

Reserves: 10:30am
League: 1:10pm

South were the disappointment of last season, missing finals after a solid 2016, while Glenelg did a Glenelg and lost to the bottom 2 sides to slide out of the finals at the last second. With new coaches all round, who will start the season with a win.

Glenelg could be fantastic, woeful or something in between. Like always! Smile

I think the Bays have recruited well but I am still concerned about our backline. Overall had a day out last year and if he gets on a roll he will create match-up problems.
I reckon the Bays by 20 points

Always like this game so hopefully there will be a good crowd again.

Well I know it’s Good Friday & South would have won regardless but we were crucified by the umpiring which gave us no chance whatsoever....it must be said that our afl defensive game style got picked apart after half time by a bloke who was coaching Henley last year

Average post.

Your undisciplined efforts after half time cost you the game. 2 Bay reports I believe. (??) The Bays lost their focus on football and started to "play the man". Brooksby made a meal out of the Bays "star" recruit Jesse White who looked a bit lost today.

Our coach, well he did coach Henley last year and your post is quite condescending and disrespectful.

Just so you know a bit more about out coach :

Head Coach Henley Sharks (Premiers 2017)
Midfield Coach South Adelaide (2015 - 2016)
Head Coach Reserves Woodville-West Torrens (2012 - 2014, Premiers 2013 & 2014)
Assistant Midfield Coach Woodville-West Torrens (2012 - 2014)
Senior Player Henley Sharks (2011)
Senior Player Woodville-West Torrens (2008 - 2010)
Senior Player South Adelaide (2004 - 2007)
Senior Player Brisbane Lions (2002 - 2003)
Junior Player Woodville-West Torrens (2000 - 2001, Premiers 2000)

Anyway, on football - South once again too good for the Bays.

Sorry for having an opinion & ffs it was a compliment of coach Wright as our coach came from an afl background of 14 years or thereabouts & coach Wright worked out & dismantled the Sydney/Freo style in about an hour....however i'll keep my opinions to myself from now on as obviously i'm not allowed to have one without it being incorrectly analysed to what i meant & i could have mentioned a magarey medalist who king hit a player 10-15 metres off the ball & no wonder a square up or two occured after half time...............roger over & out Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Saw 3 great marks at Carlunga today

Lachlan Hosie[Glenelg] in the seconds today

A South player took a speccy near the scoreboard in the League game
When South were going to the southern end
Dunno who the player was ?

When the crowd was on the ground having dobs
A lad wearing a number 14 jumper , a spectator , in the Northern goal square , launched himself on his mates back , stood on his shoulders and took an absolute hanger
The lad was only a rovers size, wearing sunnies

As for the game
When Glenelg led 4-7 to 2-3, in the 2nd quarter , during the Terry Milera show ,  I made this comment
" I think Glenelg will win 40+."
South scored the next 8 goals !

That spectator I posted that took a great mark, looks a bit like Jack Kluske who wears number 60 and debuted for Port Adelaide in round 1
