Round 1: Centrals v North - Friday 30 March @ My Money House Oval
Centrals v North
Friday 30 March
My Money House Oval
Reserves: 11:30am
League: 2:10pm
Centrals spent most of last season well out of finals contention - then stormed in a Semi Final berth where they were gallant against the eventual Premiers. North, on the other hand, had a season that would be best described as mediocre. Will Centrals continue their solid form from late last season, or will North start the season with a win?

Central at home but I don’t think it’ll be as easy as most think, they (North) moved the ball quickly & slickly in the trial match against Glenelg, Central by 13 points

Centrals at home is always a difficult task and I can't see North winning this one. The Dogs by 3 goals.

Some sad news for a North Adelaide trainer and his family today, apparently he suffered a heart attack near or in the change rooms early in the game at Elizabeth and has passed away. Obviously it had an affect on the rest of the staff, coaches and players.

Condolences to the North Adelaide Football Club and the trainer's family.
As for the game itself, had it not been for errant kicking by Centrals in the 2nd quarter, the result could've been close to the corresponding game in 2016. It was an open, free flowing game, which North could not keep up with.
The most exciting part of the day, for me, was the debuts of Hately and Dahmns. 17 and 18 respectively, they both had pretty good days out for their debut. Both kicked a goal, and Dahms could've had at least 3 had it not been for some errant kicking at goal.
It was interesting to note that North faded out in both the Reserves and League matches, nearly blowing a 6 goal lead in the Reserves. Is there a fitness issue at North?
