Round 1: Centrals v North - Friday 25 March @ My Money House Oval
Centrals v North
Friday 25 March
My Money House Oval
Reserves: 11:25am
League: 2:10pm
Centrals came from nowhere to clinch 5th spot in the final round of the season last year - and that was enough to see them charge into the Preliminary Final. North started their season well, and then lost, and kept losing, and kept losing, and kept losing, and they're on an unbroken 17 game losing streak going into season 2016. Will Centrals win a round 1 game for the first time in a long time, or will North equal their win count from season 2015.

Centrals by 5 goals. Hard to get a handle on North but I suspect it will be a long year at Prospect

I think Central look fairly solid and should get the points.
Josh Carr has North playing a defensive pressing style and that will take time, but their forward line looks average and they'll need big games from their experienced players.
Craig and Barnes look a good big man combination, but there's a lack of talls elsewhere.
Central's midfield looks strong and I think they'll be too good.
Centrals by 6 or 7 goals.

We gotta bag someone

Turned up today not really sure what to expect. Would North respond to a new coach after the debacle that was last season? Would Centrala underestimate North?
For the first 10 minutes North dominated play, only they didn't put it on the scoreboard. Centrals then scored a goal from their first inside 50 and it was pretty much one way traffic from there on in.
Centrals were great for most of the day with some good tackling and outstanding chasing, resulting in numerous turnovers which they capitalised on.
North, on the other hand, completely fell away and by the last quarter had completely capitulated. A long off season following 17 straight losses and little seems to have changed at North.
It's looking like a long season for North, while Centrals will face some stronger tests in the coming weeks.
