Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Yeah probably Mark Ducker, Matt Prmius and Alex Georgiou the best from my time, but would think another club would probably better that.
Didn't Sturt have a little rover (Pfeiffer maybe?) in the early 80's that wore 39?

I think Seamus trumps any other Sturt player in that number.

Andrew Jarman debuted in number 39. Went on to do alright. More recently Todd Miles did well in the number 39 jumper.

At the risk of going off topic briefly - I remember Stephen Boehm, but can't recall any other players to wear glasses, but no doubt there would have been?

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
I reckon Harry Kernahan played in glasses, held on with band-aids. Now the old memory ain't what it used to be, but have memories of going down the bay and noting such things...... Can't remember what I had for tea tonight, mind you!! And cheers, Scrunch for saying 'Would HAVE been' instead of 'would of been" ....!

Geoff Blethyn definitely wore glasses.
Did Paul Marrett wear them for a short while?

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
#38 presents as a toughy.
I only have Robert Magarey who played for Sturt circa 80s.
A cross between Julius Sumner Miller, Professor Pat Pending (Wacky Races) and the Doc from Back to the Future, he was a bit of an enigma and local whipping boy at Unley. That was until he found his feet and became quite effective, albeit with an ungainly style. Maybe didn't play as many games as he could have in the end.
Others?

John Falting at Westies. Would have played a lot more senior footy at any other club that didn't have Lindner, Luders, Meuret, Mike Smith and Geoff Morris ahead of him. He did play quite a bit of League but was one of those guys who missed his era - he'd be a very handy player these days.

Did Lyle Skinner play most of his career in 38? I just can't remember.

Winter #37.
Should remember, he spent long enough on the Jumbo that day to get a good look at him.

Vivian was quick and had a lengthy career. I thought he also was captain for a while. Might be wrong.
I would have thought between him and Sibenaler who has a swag of flags.
I will defer to Doggies fans on which one.

David Kernahan played in 37 and won a couple of premierships with the Bays. Was handy for Carlton as well until his back went on him.
Not as good as Vivian, he was a very good player.

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
John Menz wore 37 for Norwood in the 60s-70s
Menz is also the retailer on Glynburn Road Glynde , the firm that makes those magnificent iconic Fruchocs
Is John Menz related to the confectionary retailers ?

Sorry mate, however John Menz has nothing to do with the retailer Robern Menz on Glynburn Road, The Business is owned by the Sims family and has been for over 100 years

He certainly did that day.
Peter had the last laugh, though, as a premiership player that year.
I think Peter is also still a Tribunal member. I see him fairly often at West events.
When comparing the number 37's, Peter's 202 games puts him right up there.

'Bayman'
I'm sorry mate I don't have the keys. I have had dealings with the Sims family for a number of years, they are wonderful people and their products are outstanding.
They are so well known for their Fruchocs, however they
produce many other products including Honeycombe.
I live 10 minutes from the Glynburn Road Factory and retail outlet and I visit there frequently.
