Agreed on Slade, although Jamie Thomas went alright, as well.
Not in the same ilk as Slade, but a solid career, nonetheless.
Thomas went more than alright, a fantastic player. Hards as nails, had no problem finding or winning the ball, and effective disposal. IMHO he was very underrated outside of Elizabeth.

Fire away now. 45+ is open as we speak. it would take too long to count down from 50s.
Shaun Rhen 52
Obviously not at Rehn's level, but played a full SANFL career - David Payne was a handy number 52 (before switching to 17 once established)

Perhaps we can keep the 45+ numbers open for the duration, should anyone want to offer them into the ring.
So onto #43................

Had he played longer I have no doubt Andrew Aish would figure prominently in this one.

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Spell_Check may be able to confirm but I believe Adelaide's Dylan Schoenmakers is the only SANFL player wearing number 66 to kick four goals in a senior match (vs West in round 21 2016)

I didn't mention Jona, southern bulldogs, as he was a bit before my time and I never saw him play live...
Hence why my comments were on Hoppy and Richo only, as I saw them in the flesh...
Obviously Jona was very, very talented...

Again, from a Central perspective only, Adam Switala is the first that comes to mind here...
Was a pretty consistent player and had a year in the AFL system as an Essendon Rookie...
Was of course the hard-luck story in one of the early Premierships, left out for Shannon Hurn...
The man known as Swooper played mainly across half back and a little bit on the wing...
Was very skilled and performed well over 200+ games and won 3 flags with the Dogs...

He was very good that game and if my memory serves me correct, he kicked 3 of them in one term, all well crumbed snap shots hitting the pack at full pace.
Is a very good SANFL player, just needs to find consistency.

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Sorry, dragging my heels a bit.
These high numbers obviously creating mental blanks.
Maybe we should have started at #40. But we couldn't leave the Rat out of it now could we?
The only 43 I can think of is Aiden Riley. Been an excellent servant for the Blues whilst he's been around. But probably not near 100 games yet.
Onto #42.........
Be patient troops, the fight over numbers will happen soon enough!

42
Scott Bassett arguably the best 42 at the NFC
I dont recall a 42 tougher than Paul McCormack
In the 1990s against Port he collided with Ports brilliant defender Roger Delaney
Roger, from memory took no further part in that match
If Roger was ever hurt or hit harder than that, it would have been very very painful
43
Andrew Aish , a very talented footballer , from a very talented family

When we get down to number 10 King Rooster will have a royal routine
Mick Redden head + shoulders above in ability + height than most 42s that've ever played SANFL

Matthew Kelly wore 42 and could have been a club great (Imho) had a horrendous run of Injury not curtailed his promising career. Then of course there's the great Wayne Schmaal

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
If I recall correctly, didn't Stephen Kernahan begin his career at the Bay in number 42?

For some reason 50 on the dot rings a bell, the lad could have been anything. Bit like Seb Packer from Sturt, but I digress, maybe a topic for another time.
Good call about Kernahan too

Not sure on whether it was just the first season in the seniors, but I think Chris McDermott lined up next to him in 41 to start with as well.

Despite, in my opinion, a great number of North players over the years, I think we could only really lay claim to numbers 10 and 42 in the scheme of things.
Maybe, somewhat controversially, number 16 as well. We did have a triple Magarey medallist wearing that number
