Spelly,
Noticed in Divison 2 Amateur League that Portland are top of the ladder with a percentage of less than 50% (5W 1L 48.27%). Has this ever happened in the SANFL?
And vice versa, has a team ever been bottom with a % of greater than 50%?

Without stealing Spelly's thunder, I have a distinct feeling that North had a percentage of more than 50% at times last year when sitting bottom.

In the early years, the definition of a round was not like it is now. It was more or less the first round was when everyone had played each other once, then the second round was the end of the minor round. The number of matches per club per season is a better measurement:
1899 12
1900 12
1901 18 (the third meeting between the clubs was more an elongated finals series, add three for the number of "rounds")
1902 12 (add two for the byes until 1920)
1903 12
1904 12
1905 12
1906 12
1907 12
1908 12
1909 12
1910 13 (the one off "qualifying round" gave the top six an extra match, with the top four in Port, Norwood, Torrens and Sturt only playing it, 5th and 6th placed teams saw no need to)

Sorry to cut Spelly's lunch, but this is from FOOT-e TIMES SA last week...
Recent @ Playford Alive Oval, Elizabeth
- Central have won last 13
- West last win at NAP Rd 16 (July17) 1999
Not sure about the last time the Bloods beat the Dogs twice in the one season, though.

We worked out that Barrie Robran prior to his knee injury, and taking out finals, Barrie averaged something like 1.2 votes per game! That's from 1967 - 1974.

Round 6, 4th of May 1984
Port Adelaide 20.14.134 d Norwood 14.7.91 Attendance 19,142
This was the first night match for premiership points.
As for the first Norwood lights game, Spelly is the man who has that info.

One for Spelly and possibly the likes of Leaping Lindner - what were the career stats for John Brealey at North Adelaide, please? He was probably my favorite North player growing up, for some reason. Also, where did he hail from etc please.

I'll double check the game total for you CK but I can tell you he joined North from Prince Alfred College, and retired due to consistent soft tissue injuries.

I can tell you about Jericho.
Since joining Norwood he has played 46 games and kicked 97 goals. You're correct in your observation that he has played little football against West Adelaide playing 3 games and kicking 6 goals.
I can assure you it's not be design, he just seems to be injured wherever we come up against West Adelaide.
His performances for Norwood against all clubs is:
Central District 6 games, 12 goals
Glenelg 6 games, 12 goals
North Adelaide 5 games, 9 goals
Port Adelaide 6 games, 10 goals
South Adelaide 9 games, 17 goals
Sturt 5 games, 17 goals
West Adelaide 3 games, 6 goals
W-WT Eagles 6 games, 14 goals
We certainly miss him when he isn't there.
