i watched the first three quarters & i'd suggest that Souths ball movement was a lot better & much quicker than Norths, i thought Obst looked in need of the run but showed me enough that he could be getting back to his best, the best for mine tonight was the steak sandwiches

3 light towers failed at the 17 minute mark of the last quarter......game over.
South have quite a few injury concerns I would think from this game....Veide, Cross and Bass, . - Rolfe, Boyd,Eddy, Darou, Durdin amongst others did not play.

purely on what we watched the scores summed up the contest, good, quick & skillful first term by both teams & all Central after that as their work rate lifted, however as we know with trials they are just that trials & i'm not sure how many ''first pick'' players Central had out but i think we had several not playing for a variety of reasons & 8 played only a half, i don't think the scoreboard worried coach Lokan as he was all smiles at 3/4 time as he came back up the grandstand to watch the last quarter

Yes, trials are trials, can't read much into them.

Hard to tell where things sit after a game against South anyway given their form in recent seasons.

they actually got to the preliminary final last year my friend
trial games are just that, trial games, no one should take notice of a scoreboard

True Bayman not certain who took this game more seriously
10 league players missing for the eagles plus players off were they injured or rested
South had injuries as well during the game i went past one poor player on crutches

Micky how did Matt Raymond go and do you think he is up to league standard?

Pretty fair effort from the Bloods, drawing with Sturt first up.
Looks like 2 or 3 of our Under 18 premiership side have put their hand up to start in Round 1.

He looked good in the seconds as did Ventura
I think yesterday's game showed the Eagles depth this year

Central's young brigade, and a couple of new recruits, impressed a fair bit...Lee wrote:Pretty comprehensive win. Central obviously good, were Glenelg bad?
Goodrem in attack worked well and looks likely to be a more permanent thing...
The Tigers still had about half a dozen first choice players out, for various reasons, I was told...
Keep an eye out for a young Doggies player Domenic Costanzo. Very impressive player, who kicked a couple of nice goals...

Thanks for the lesson on how to assess trial form. I know I'm not as close to it as you are but it seems to me that despite finishing position and that good run of wins last year, South is not a team with consistent form- ie they win games you don't expect and they lose games they should win, therefore- hard to gauge where you're at based on their performance- especially when they're experimenting.

Coupla questions:
1. What happened to the South lad (number 33 I think) who looked to fall over without contact and hurt himself?
2. Who was the Sturt lad that kicked the cracking bomb?
3. Westies lad kicked a nice long goal to the same end too - much breeze?
