big bash 2014-2015
last night Adelaide comprhensively beat the Melbourne Stars
tonight the Melbourne Renegades 5/135 after 17.3 overs versus the Sydney Sixers
which means the ten network into Adelaide has the game in delay, an absolute disgrace in this day & age

the dismissal of Maxwell in tonights big bash match, has to be the most bizarre dismissal in any form of cricket, i've seen players shoulder arms & get bowled or lbw, but tonight takes the cake, i know it isn't his fault he is the most over rated player in the world but this was a disgrace

Was a complete brain fade I reckon.
I think the expectations he has created (even for himself) of the unusual shot range is surpassing his focus on the job at hand.

i went tonight along with 43,000+ others, those that thought T20 would be a flash in the pan have been proven wrong, it is mainly a different crowd but they are helping Australian cricket in many many ways....yes i thoroughly enjoyed the night even though the contest was over very early

Do you think the Big Bash T20 is helping sustain Test Cricket in Australia?
It is certainly a different audience.
I like the format of doing it in a consolidated schedule.
I think they could abandon the State T20 comp that is played in Sydney.
That doesn't seem to hold much interest, as comments here earlier in the season.

43288 for the BBL game Adelaide Strikers against Hobart Hurricanes
24836 for that exciting day 5 Australia v India test match a game high crowd for the 5 days
Many sporting codes are having falling attendances in Adelaide
SANFL football, Adelaide races are 2 examples
BBL has come up with a concept that is putting bums on seats
The attraction ?
3 hours of exciting cricket with a home and away premiership points system , and Grand Finals
The 3rd test Australia went for 5 days for no result, mainly due to an obsession with winning a trophy named after an Australian and Indian great
Played for 5 days and then teams had the temerity to abandon the game with 4 overs remaining and still 4 wickets to take
Australia still had a very remote chance to win , but walked off the ground
My Question is
How many kids watching that game would be turned of test cricket and will embrace 20/20 cricket ?

Why can't they shift The Project to One or 11 - it's not like anyone watches it anyway.

exactly & i got told at lunch today they usually replay it anyway, also heard on the ABC's broadcast of the test match that most of Australia was in delayBrucetiki wrote:bayman wrote:the ten network (Adelaide) has AGAIN shafted us by telecasting tonights Big Bash match in delay.....right now Sydney sixers who were put into bat are 2/53 after 6 overs......at least ch 9 change the cricket to Gem when they have their news service, SHAME 10 SHAME

The delay between the ABC radio call and the channel nine telecast has always been there, I don't know the reason for this, its a delay of about 5 seconds.

agreed about the difference in ch 9 to the radio, i presume it may have something to do with satellites or the radio 7 second delay, but that is purely guesswork on my part, however the live match v ch 10's broadcasting of at least 2 Big Bash matches is deliberate so they can show ''The Project'' in its entirety

Adelaide Strikers d Melbourne Renegades to advance to a home semi final.... possibly Saturday or Sunday.
Interesting to hear Ludeman say after the game he hoped the crowd would be bigger than a Power or Crows game at the Adelaide oval and break the attendance record..
Not sure what the biggest attendance is with either the Power or the Crows but i'm confident the Strikers will get close. Over 50,000 ???

they'll get over 40,000 & i'll be one of them, however with the sightscreens as they are they won't be able to hold 50,000...Cricket Australia have agreed to a Saturday night clash to avoid the Tour Down Under, however there is one proviso if Sydney Sixers end up hosting a final they'll get it on the Saturday so there is enough time to get the S.C.G. ready for Mondays one day clash

Anybody see last night's game between the 2 Sydney sides?
The Sixers hit 50 off the last 3 overs for an unlikely win, mainly due to Silk hitting 5 sixes. The Thunder clutched defeat from the jaws of victory.

well done fb, 52,633 was the official crowd posted on the big screen last night, atmosphere was electric, the final nail in the coffin was when Brad Hodge got out..........smart tactic by Sydney to have the spinners bowl from the Torrens' end so the batsmen had to hit into a very strong breeze when going for the maximum

Fantastic game
Perth beating Sydney, game decided on the last ball of the innings
But why was it played in Canberra ?
Logic says it should be played at the highest ranked teams home ground

it was only played in Canberra this year as the main city venues are being prepared for the world cup, it'll revert back next season
