Only 4 players that played league last Saturday v Port are in the side...the rest are reserves players.

Bayman had a concerted crack at the Norwood Football Club for fielding a B grade team against East Fremantle in the 2013 Foxtel Cup
West eventually won the Cup and the sta$$$$$$$h
This year West are fielding a B grade team
Interested to read Bayman's views this time round

I think not having a bye to follow changed things a bit this year.

10 team SANFL Comp
No more byes in the foreseeable future
Does this mean we can always expect B grade line ups?
If so the Foxtel Cup will lose a lot of respect

10 teams in Tassie too and Storm had a bye last weekend but all teams have played 3 games so not sure how they did that.
Re: Foxtel Cup 2014
Kinda like the FA Cup - get rid of the minnows early and let the 'big' teams enter in the 3rd round.

What chance are the Storm on their best day beating West Adelaides reserves on their worst day? A fairly unlikely scenario one might think. If West were playing Subiaco their line up might be somewhat differnet!

I think the Storm are every chance tonight.
West are fielding a Reserves side with a few inexperienced League players.
I'm not sure the Tasmanian league is only equivalent to our Reserves standard.
I can remember going to Hobart for a trial game and being narrowly beaten, although the Tassie side then was in the VFL, so much stronger.

Here in the rooms at Adelaide Oval. Did a bit of strapping, first for a fair while.
Walked across the ground and in awe, fantastic stadium.
Looking forward to the game, 50/50 I reckon.

Big difference with the FA Cup is that at some stage every club is involved.
With this concept often the better teams from the season before aren't still among the better teams the following season - Norwood this season is a prime example.
North were a better team than West last season (eventually), but West won a national title whilst the Roosters weren't involved.
West pocketed a tidy sum last season so good on them, but I don't know whether it did their domestic season any favours.
So all in all I think it's a rather stupid, contrived, needless competition, especially in its current format.

Didn't respect the opposition or the competition. We deserved to lose.

Not surprised at all.
I would like to think that board members are starting to think about Mickan the way Man Utd thought about Moyes.

it is pointless being in a competition if your not really interested in it, i think it is fair to say now that the SANFL told West to play as 'cup holders' after North refused the invitation, however thanks to testy posting about the West Adelaide named team earlier in the week, i decided to look at it, i didn't know more than 3 names & backed Western Storm @ $3.50 & took the line as well, so Scrappy i'm happy with the result & i told your man THE VIZZ & IATW as well...........also Rubbers' wasn't interested in it when he was at Glenelg & politely knocked it back

I thought you'd just read my posts saying it was a 50/50 game, Bayman.

I believe you should always play to win and winning form is good form and habit forming.
Rubbers better have a good 2nd half to the year because he inherited a side that has made finals to years in a row - I dont accept excuses like injury. He has 2 years and if we fail to make finals, he will be held accountable
