I'd query Bode in front of Caire, Rudolph, Jarrad and I'd say Hartlett for Georgiou.

I'd query Bode in front of Caire as well but it would be close.

Georgiou definitely has to be in there. Has barely given a goal away all season. Hartlett's second half of the year wasn't as good as his first so he misses out.

Very good team though and think they have got it pretty much right.

I'd say Bode at half back could be replaced by either Daniel Caire or Ed Sansbury.

Other than that, I think it is a pretty well selected side...

Didn't Jarrad miss about a third of the season?

I consider McIntyre lucky to be there, but can't really offer an alternative.
Just that his form was very inconsistent.

Daniel Caire was third in the League in rebound 50's this year, Bode not in top 20.

Caire gives run as well.

He's won West's B & F, was second last year, made the State team this year.

A really glaring omission.

I hate these teams ... "This player from my team missed out, that player from the other team shouldn't have got in", etc. No matter who you select you won't please everyone.

From a Norwood point of view, if there's 22 better players than Batsanis, I haven't seen them.

Can anyone supply the positions of the 2011 TOY? (I have 21 of the 22 but only 6 in positions)

So, what you are saying is, you'd only have one player from the team who won 18 games out of 20 in the first 18 players. Good call.

The team is very good with Daniel Caire as the only player to come in for Jace Bode.

R&B is right this kid is a super player who rarely plays a bad game. I think he could have made it
at AFL level. I rate him very highly and he will be in Wests top 3 for the B&F again

Norwood have 5 players in the team, so that would reduce it to 3. Then I would have selected Batsanis to make it 4. In any event, I don't think it follows necessarily that the best team must have the most players in the TOTY.

Agreed, Bayman, it astounds me that Caire is ignored so much by the experts. Very few back pocket players win B&F's and poll so consistently each year.

not me r&b but i agree, very hard to pick these sides & no one could say it is wrong or right given it is only an opinion.....the only problem i have & not because of any ability, it is anyone on AFL lists rookie or otherwise getting a 'jumper' not sure that is the right thing to do

What is the logic behind continuing to have 4 interchange players? If you're not going to select a side using the SANFL configuration, why stop at 4? Why not name 50 on the bench?

Yeah agreed I don't kow why you would do that. Personally I would also exclude AFL listed players. These sides are always hard to pick. Do you pick the best players or pick a side taking into account positions and team balance.

Overall he got it mostly right with this one.
