I'd just like West to kick more than 9 goals...oh, and win by 5-6 goals.

logic would say West but i think Sturts pace will cause headaches for West & unlike Port they have blokes up forward who can kick goals, Sturt in an upset for mine & i might even have a shilling or two on them if the price is tempting enough

There should be no excuses for West, as I think they'd be close to selecting their best side.

McIntyre will be a big loss for Sturt.
I'm looking forward to this game. Should be a firm track and a reasonable day, so West to win in a high scoring shootout.

Yes, I was going to tip Sturt to win this oner, but I think McIntyre's loss is a big one. He's been the guiding light in their forward line and without him I can't see Sturt creating enough problems in West's defence.
I think R&B is being optimistic about it being a high scoring shoot out, but let's hope so. West by 12 points.

High scoring shootout?
Perhaps I was being a little tongue-in-cheek

Think this will turn out to be the match of the round, will take a punt and tip Sturt by less than a goal even though its at Richmond.
Despite the narrow loss to Norwood Sturt seem to be consolidating some form and appear to be under much more pressure than West at present. Whilst the loss of McIntyre is a blow that could cost them, Sturt also have plenty of pace and experience in their side and have a game plan that should take it up to West across the centre. Will be a game well worth having a look at.

Westies played a conventional 6 mad forward line and 6 man backline today.
Best team performance I've seen from then since the Centrals Game Rd 2 last year

Freudian slip perhaps?
Yes, it's amazing what can happen when attack becomes your main objective. 19 goals is a very good day's work.

Last week we started with no CHF and 5 men up forward with an extra on the wing with Birss tagging Dolling
Against Norwood both sides played 7 men in defense. Birss took terlich
Our tactics may not have changed, but our structure was definetly different
We still pressed up with numbers BUT at the centr bounce, we had 6 up forward so when we won a clearance, we had equal numbers at the ball and were able to pressure sturt leaving our forward lines from a clearance at a centre break. Tactics may not have changed, but structure did

Re: Round 15: West v Sturt - Saturday 7 July 2012 @ City Mazda Stadium
Petrhaps when we get the ball more, there's no need for the forward line to spend so much time running into defence.
It seems that whenever we win, we're playing 'attacking football', whereas when we lose, we're too defensive. It doesn't work that way.
Birss played exactly the same 'tagging' role today as last week, but Beech played CHF and Silverlock added pace and something different.
We played great footy, but I have to ask how a side who dominated most of the day finished on the wrong side of a 28 -13 free kick count? West hardly got a 'cheap' free kick all day after the first goal of the day and seemed to be on the wrong end of some baffling decisions often. From the last quarter of the infamous Norwood game to now, it's been 54 frees to 23, in a huge win, a win and a one point loss.
And they've cearly been playing in front

What about the free in the 3rd qtr on slattery. Sturt played to advatage and the umpire guessed we kicked it away and paid it down field. Every other person in the stadium knew it was a sturt team mate who played the ball forward except the umpire. They were disgraceful today BUT the jokers in the ressies were equally poor. Hard to get dropped when there's little pushing up.
We need two umps so we can have quality and drop those who dont perform. Instead of $300 a game per ump, up it to $500 a game for two umps.

The umpiring was baffling, to say the least, and yes, the twos were robbed.
A coach could rightly be concerned about discipline with a free-kick count of 13-28, but there was nothing about the Bloods' play today to suggest they were the bad guys.
At least three of Sturt's first five goals resulted from free kicks.
Loved our pace through the midfield today, best I've seen.

Yes, wolves, the decision in the goalsquare in the last few minutes of the Reserves ranks as one of the worst decsions of all time.
West 2 points up, the ball kicked into Sturt's goalsquare to a two on one. The one (West's Kurt Tthompson) puts two hands in the air and marks the ball between the two Sturt players. A brilliant game-saving effort acclaimed by all the crowd as the umpire blows the whistle.
"In the back"!!!!!!!!!
Ye Gods.

Speaking to Marc Borholm back at the club and he suggested that the umpire had said that Thompson took his eyes off the ball and was only looking at his man. Didn't think that was illegal as long as he didn't make contact with the opposition (which he didn't).
Heard someone say that 5RPH announced that the free kick count was 30-17 at 3/4T. Are they counting on the fulls as well. Maybe Big Phil might be able to clarify.
Great win today and fantastic to see the foot kept well and truly on the throttle all day. Brad Fisher was clearly BOG. His workrate was outstanding and showed why he played 99 AFL games. Chris Schmidt and Scott Bricknell were outstanding. There wasn't any passengers except for maybe Daniel Webb unfortunately. He is really struggling and may find himself running around in the 2s with the way Pete Nelson is continuing to shine at the moment.
Still have Fort Caruso (was the runner for the reserves), Nat Caruso (who is playing reserves) and Shannon Green to somehow find a spot back into the team. On todays performance they may need to have a lengthy stint in the reserves.
Bye this week then Glenelg. Win that one and we just about have a double chance sewn up.
Great day. Just hope the crows can continue it.

apart from 2 or 3 who stayed forward of the congestion it was like a 'Pagans paddock' situation
i would presume that coach Moloney would now realise that Alwyn Kurtz is a ruckman not a forward....it was so obvious that he had to stay in ruck & leave Jenkins up forward
West looked very good to me & a lot better than they did last week, also they did something today that would win them finals...yep kicked well over 12 goals
i stood with a few Sturt mates today & they thought that Sturt played without 'ticker', i thought that was very harsh on West so how do you other Sturt guys think they went
back to Jenkins, can someone explain to me why he wasn't paid that 'screamer' because i've seen numerous paid that players hardly touch
