Back in the year 2000 a comparison was done by some guy in reference to this.

Phar Lap won in total nearly 70,000 pounds from 37 wins which equated to allmost $16,000,000. That figure would be more today as that was 12 years ago. He won many what today are considered group one races,1 Melbourne cup, 2 Cox Plates, 2 Derby's (AJC & Victoria), Futurity stakes, Chipping norton Stakes plus others that have since had name changes, he really was a CHAMPION.

Does Frankel deserve to be the highest rated horse in the world?

Dont they have pace-setters or something in europe?

I don't know the quality of the opposition he beat last week, but it could hardly have been a more impressive win.

yes it was an impressive win, but was the margin assisted by the fact the race was run to suit?

I dont know, so im just throwing the questions out there for those here who know more about the nags than I.

Emperor, there are pace setters here as well we just don't refer to them as such over here in Aust.

Certain horses like to lead and others like to sit just behind and leave there run until late in a race so I don't think there is a lot of difference between here and overseas.
As for Frankel being rated as high as he is this is for the distances that he races over and the quality of opposition that he has beaten. His pet distance is 1 mile (1600 Metres)

Black Caviar is rated the best sprinter in the world based on the same criteria.

would there be any hope of Frankel being attracted to Cox Plate?

Wow , he would be a great draw card for sure, but I doubt it.

He has won eleven out of eleven from distances of 1400 metres (3 times) to 1600 metres (8 times) and whether he can go the 2040 metres for the Cox Plate is open for debate.
