Re: Jockey Challenges
At the end of the day (I actually hate that saying - but anyway - lol) - I do JC pure and simply for fun and entertainment - winning is a bonus. So if I'm going to win I'd rather it be more than less.

Certainly. I'm talking hypothetically, of course.
Although I don't go in the JC, I enjoy following the results of those who do on here.
Maybe I'll join in when I get more time.

Re: Jockey Challenges
I think from looking at JCs and my limited betting experience that VALUE is actually your personal rating of that selection.
I think shopping around and getting the best price possible is also a part of VALUE.
And as A MUM has mentioned there has been many a day where a short priced jockey has lost.

Re: Jockey Challenges
Yep correct TE
Hence I do better on 'slower' tracks because I look at the horse and it may not necesarily have been 'given a chance' by tipsters or markets etc - but it say has ran 4th-5th on a slow track - and if I'm looking at a slow track I then rate that horse and give it a chance. If that makes sense..lol.
Also with JC quite often jockey's can 'pick up' unexpected rides.
The best value is often when you catch the betting agency 'napping'.
So a jockey may pick up some rides before the agency realises - this doesn't happen that often - but it's good times when it does..lol.
Anyway - we call it a rollercoaster ride for good reason..lol.
But it's all good fun and you don't have to outlay much.
Gets a few of us through our boring work day

brown only 3rd in a 4 horse field, robl winning helps.
newitt being beaten on a $1.30 favorite keeps werribee open
frew looks like a case of how far at pt aug.

Goulburn - got Nisbet at $7.50
Buckley at $8.00
L. Grace at $5.00
AOJ at $4.40
rawiller was very heavily backed before race 1, from $17 to $8, and is now on 5 points after 3 races - mott, as favorite at $2.40, only 1 point from the first 3 races.
