Funny a non eagles fan posts this and no Westies fans scream salary cap
Why are westies fans not complaining about this one is it because no eagles fans posted it
I think this highlights my point of west fans going off when eagles fans post

Question....if a club pays a clearance fee to another club, does that money come out of the Salary cap?

By the way, how can you state that there are posters on this forum that have far more knowledge of the salary cap than me, you don't know what I know. You just use throw away lines to put people down.

West supporters should be realistic enough to know we're at the start of a rebuild which will take more than a year, so no expectations of success in 2021 from me, so where the Eagles finish isb't a big deal.
It's a discussion.
PS: thank you, goddy11and I agree about the 22.
21 maybe 22 (been in for a whole season) says it all!!!!!

No, B & W.
It did for a few recent years, but only for two clubs.
Yes, you read that correctly.

Personally I couldn’t give a damn what you think or believe . It’s none of my business.

Micky, wishing you and your family a happy Xmas. You are starting to lose context and as an idea you might want a break from this thread. You dont need to reply to each poster. They are just opinions and you are free to comment on other clubs. Serious or in jest.
I for one am looking forward to next season. Go Eagles.

Geez, a few feathers ruffled in this thread makes for interesting reading. Eagles fans getting upset for Cap questioning should try supporting Norwood for the last decade. Pretty sure Centrals copped it when they were on top, surprised the Bays and North weren't questioned as it generally accompanies success. Best way to handle it is to just sit back and keep watching your team deliver what they have been.

Re: Eagles all things 2021
Yes indeed.
But to Micky, we know you are a fervent Eagles supporter and we applaud that 100%. Lord knows the sanfl could do with a lot more passionate footy people like you.
However, I would not be taking this debate either personally or against the Eagles per se. The debate would be the same if it were Norwood, Sturt, Glenelg or even God forbid, West Adelaide.
I have not taken it to be West even throwing daggers at WWT. It is just that there are obviously a few more active West subscribers to this forum than others.
I think the questions are valid that have been raised. And given the high profile of the announcements, there are very likely, answers. We just don't know them yet.
As for posting team lists or announcements, I don't know why you have declined to post either. But I would urge you to reconsider, as I cannot see any problem in doing so, should you wish.
As that fantastic line in the "Godfather" came into our world in 1972, "it's not personal it's just business".
.....maybe that is hard to accept when you have the head of your prize racehorse lying at the end of your bed!

Hehe , 2 and a quarter teams even! I believe the team we beat in the Prelim was a quarter filled with ex-Eagles and a coach!

Re: Eagles all things 2021
Well firstly, West have also lost our two ruckmen, Parella and Taverner (and will lose our 3rd one, Thilthorpe, tomorrow). So, leaving aside the draft that's 7 in and 6 out.
Eagles have also lost Foote, but have also picked up Knight, and also have to fit Tsitas into the cap next year.
And secondly, some of those West recruits wouldn't be commanding much more than base match payments, about the same as what a couple of those Eagles outs would have got.
Thirdly, we finished last with a poor list that would have very few well paid players in it.

The Eagles 'ins' would be several times more expensive than West's.
West's 2 main recruits were playing in Tasmania and Canberra last year, plus a returning Jono Beech. The others would be lowcpayments. No delisted AFL players or high profile.

Re: Eagles all things 2021
while you are correct about Foote i just copy & pasted the updated version from the sanfl site as mentioned, now losing Parella is a bonus, he was no good at Sturt & never improved at West, if he was 5 foot 8 he wouldn't even be in the reserves, to me all these queries are fine to a point but to me the ever consistent whining about looks to me that your already making excuses for next year, there is no doubt that while the team played for Gavin Colville & were in some games throughout the year, however they now have Brad Gotch & those of us like you that have watched sanfl footy over the years will know he is a very very good coach & it might take him a year or so but he'll have a strongly competitive team on the field & this salary cap whingeing will be a thing of the past, as for Thilthorpe yes he's off due to the draft as will players from the Eagles & lots of other clubs over the country, when the dust settles i'm sure that all clubs will have similar ins & outs in the terms of the number of players
without knowing the circumstances i'd suggest perhaps some of these players your not happy about have got jobs through the clubs sponsorships & therefore signed with them, to balance it out i'll admit the Mutch brothers got a better offer that Glenelg couldn't afford to match, that's ok they made a choice & good luck to them

Yes and No, questioning any club isn’t unreasonable. Those questioning it probably should ensure their club is or was squeaky clean too else it just reeks of sour grapesFlag No.10 wrote:And those questioning Norwood were well justified Scrunch.Scrunch wrote:Geez, a few feathers ruffled in this thread makes for interesting reading.
