2019 Grand Final: Port vs Glenelg
Port Adelaide seeking their first flag this century. While their opponent is not known at time of posting, can the Magpies return to the winners list in finals?

The (true) Magpies can't, but unfortunately the AFL Power Reserves might

i have thought nothing but about this game since 5.45p sunday, i cannot see how port can hold mcbean, scott and reynolds. In the 2nd semi, scott was underdone, reynolds had a stinker and mcbean (3 goals) was off before halftime yet there was only a 4pt margin at the final siren. our grand final record is horrendous, 4-13 but i see a tiger win in the vicinity of 6-8 goals, fingers crossed i havent got this horribly wrong, GO BAYS!!

I think the Bays will need to start well to get up and break their flow.
If it like 2017, and I can't see why it would be different, but Port's fitness will surface the longer it goes and the kids will probably keep coming at the Bays.
It would be hard to play catch up on that basis.
So the Tigs need to hit them hard early.

I was in Melbourne and not overly interested for that one.

Bays have reason to be confident. Only lost the 2nd semi by a few points and Scott, Reynolds and McBean weren't their best. Having had another game at Adelaide Oval they are now more accustomed to the oval.
Port's range of tall players remains the problem so Curran and Proud will need to have good games. (Is it just coincidence that Curran was punched in the head twice in the first quarter?)
Need to get them early and have another strong third quarter

There's a school of thought among some SANFL clubs that Curran doesn't like close attention, and is too important to the Bays to let him do as he pleases. I reckon he can expect it again in the GF. He's good enough to cope though and his teammates need to help him out, which Im sure they will - Just don't get too distracted by any physicality.

Re: 2019 Grand Final: Port vs Glenelg
Good luck to the genuine fans of both clubs.
I watched 2 weeks ago, with some passionate Port fans.
I couldn't take it after the 3rd time they lost it when the ball went out of bounds.
1st time: "No way was that deliberate!!!"
2ns time: You have gor to be joking!!!!!
3rd time: "C'mon you !**##***s, you're a mob of cheating **&$##@***!!!!!
"Excuse me, it's a last possession free kick in the SANFL"
"Shut your f**$*^#g mouth", we know more about footy than you do.
As I said, good luck to the genuine Magpie supporters, perhaps a bit more luck to the Bays crowd.

FWIW
Driving around today I spotted dozens of magpies today
But I didnt see any tigers
If the GF is alike to when PA /GL final played a f/n ago, it will be great viewing

Well done, Bays, easily the best team all year.
And well done for refusing extra SANFL money with its restrictions.

Well done Glenelg, keeping an undefeated record in the SANFL
That being they have never lost to PA in a Grand Final at Adelaide Oval
GL now leads PA 2-0 in Adelaide Oval Grand Finals against PA[1934 + 2019]

Re: 2019 Grand Final: Port vs Glenelg
Fantastic match, well done Tigers. I am exceptionally happy today (as well as being hung over and hoarse). The Bays played really well and got the fast start they needed. Port never really looked like winning.
I was so nervous in the last quarter, I was expecting Port to do what Port does and make a late run at us to snatch victory away as they have done so many times before but when Motlop kicked the sealer we were home. All those cold, wet frustrating winters were forgotten.
This Tiger team is made of sterner stuff and credit must go to Stoney, he has them all playing as a team who do the extra yards and fully commit. His "be the last to surrender" was the mantra the boys followed and they got their reward. I never believed or hoped a Glenelg team could dominate the competition and the individual awards as this one has.
Just hope we can keep most of the team together. Our captain Curran cant play next year and I suspect a few will get drafted but I'm enjoying the moment.

Congratulations to all the Bay fans I know over the years.
Especially to Bayman, the truest of them all.
Hope to see him posting again, would love to hear his thoughts on his team's premiership.

Yes indeed.
He might not regain consciousness for a few more days yet.
I thought it was strange that it wasn't until 1.30pm this afternoon that we heard from any Bays people. That's probably when they woke up.

When you had drunk as much as I had the day before, even computer keyboards are surprisingly noisy.
Bayman is probably watching chimneys being uncovered as we speak.

Late to the party as always, congratulations to the Bays, a fantastic side they've assembled that play such a strong no-nonsense brand. They're well drilled and clearly all have bought into Stone's plan.
Have quite a few Glenelg mates and to see their joy/delerium has been great to witness. Well done GFC!

Re: 2019 Grand Final: Port vs Glenelg
Watching GL this season was like watching the NW style of football when coached by Nathan Bassett and Ben Warren
As for Bayman , I reckon he has not missed a GL game in about the last 40 years
I dont know of a more dedicated SANFL football supporter than him
