Yes I think all of that is valid too.
I think our OUTS were a greater impact than our INS.
Beard was the biggest and his impact was measured in more than just goals. We really never had anyone who could cover that. Even when dabbling with the rucks Osborn and Read up forward.
The injuries to key movers and shakers really stifled any momentum leading into and through the finals. I really doubt Battersby and Riley were anywhere near 100% yesterday.
Interesting about depth. With the 2s going top last year as well, the point is right that losses could be covered. last year injuries late in the season were kinder. This year's 2s missed the finals and the depth was thinner most definitely.
Recruiting will be key going into 2019.
I am not sure if Mattner's early announcement had a mental impact on the group. They did have a couple of good wins against the Eagles and South at Noarlunga late in the season. I think the injury situation and difficulty in covering those losses had a bigger impact.
