Senior Coach Position Applications
ABOUT WEST ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB
The West Adelaide Football Club is one of ten teams competing in the SANFL, based in the inner Adelaide suburb of Richmond. The club has a successful history in South Australia having won nine premierships and is looking to grow members, fans and supporters in its local community and country zones. This role is critical to the success and growth of the Club via the management of the football coaching department of the club.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position will suit someone who is looking to establish themselves in a pivotal role with a professional sporting organisation in one of the most competitive state-based competitions in Australia. The role requires someone who can demonstrate superior leadership, management and technical skills relating to Australian Rules football. If you believe you are a standout performer with the following competencies, we welcome your application.
Leadership
Have the ability to understand centres of influence within a football club and the critical elements of club culture that impact success.
Be able to develop and lead the football plan in all facets of coaching and mentoring.
Management
Possess the capacity to plan, organise, motivate and communicate to a diverse group of individuals.
Technical skills
Have the ability to develop a game plan which is clear and concise with refined tactical skills.
Have a comprehensive understanding of trends, philosophies and strategies of current Australian Rules football.
Coaching Experience
Have recently coached a team at a senior level of Australian Rules football.
Have a minimum AFL Level 2 Coaching accreditation.
Communication
Demonstrate the ability to educate, train and develop people by understanding how to transfer knowledge to individuals.
The ability to be able to unite a group to achieve football success and create a high performance culture
Commercial Focus
Be prepared to be the public face of the West Adelaide Football Club.
