Round 3: Sturt v Eagles - Tuesday 25 April @ Peter Motley Oval
Sturt v Eagles
Tuesday 25 April
Peter Motley Oval
Reserves: 11:25am
League: 2:10pm
It's the Grand Final re-match, and for the second year running the reigning premier's last win was the previous year's GF. Meanwhile the Eagles haven't lost since that shock loss. Who will come away from this game with the 2 points?

with Sturt still missing a few players i'd expect the Eagles' by over 6 goals

Yes I was wondering whether that was correct myself Mickyj.
The ANZAC Day games have always started later out of respect for the day.
I remember the B Grade starting at 12.01pm followed by the League game at around 2.45pm.
I only hope that SANFL have not forgotten this.

I've sent the Eagles a message on Facebook to get the correct starting times

If true it shows disrespect to the day we all commemorate....however the reason could be because of no lighting for night footy at Unley & if this is the reason then the reserves should play on the weekend so Anzac Day is respected in the traditional manner

When it was held at Woodville in 2012 (after 2011 Prem) v Central the reserves and league all started later ... made for late & dark finish of league game around 5.10pm

I'm not sure the late start was out of 'respect' particularly.
I think it was to give the diggers and people time to get to the footy after the march and reunions.
The diggers would have stayed at the reunion until closing time anyway (out of respect)

32 something I might be wrong with the number .
It was a mission or whatever its called that wasn't officially recognised until a few years ago he was killed in Syria
Buried in Palestine or Lebanon I think
I have his grave picture somewhere
I remember it was on the news that the government officially said our troops went in
I did see his name on the war memorial in Canberra
Two people same initials same name

There's no second appeal.
Offered 1 game, rescinded on appeal, I think?

reports are saying he appealed got two games
then he appealed a second time and got off
thats what im reading lee
guess it doesnt actually matter he got off
Would be interesting to know if it was the umpire who wouldnt give the Eagles a free or had issues bouncing the ball in the centre

It wouldn't be an umpire, micky.
I thought he was cited on video evidence.

I think it worked like this
Match review deemed 2 game penalty reduced to 1 if he took early plea.
He decided to fight it risking the 2 and got off.

It's a bit confusing.
The article Zac posted said he unsuccessfully challenged a two game ban and would miss next two matches.
Then following night on twitter it said he appealed and was cleared.
So it seems he didn't take early plea, went to tribunal got 2 weeks then went to appeals tribunal and suspension was overturned..........I think
