G'Day All,

A quick post to let you know that images of all state jumpers worn by South Australia (1879-today) have just been published at:

https://www.hardballget.net/rep-uniforms-sa.html

Click on any of the uniform images there to go to a history page explaining more about each design.

There's tonnes of images for you to check out and plenty of unique and long-forgotten SA jumpers.

----------------

For those interested in other State uniforms, this is phase three of a joint project by yours truly (Dave Eastman from www.hardballget.net) and Rob Meredith (www.footyjumpers.com).

I have spent the past few years researching all the representative, interstate and State of Origin uniforms worn by Australian football's state leagues, now Rob's powering through the artwork.

Other States/Leagues done so far are Victoria, VFA-VFL, Queensland.

All can be accessed via the home page for the project:

https://www.hardballget.net/rep-uniforms.html

Enjoy!

Thanks for that Easty. Fascinating to look at.I don't mind the 1930 design which is predominately yellow.

Apart from the early 1980's the design is basically unchanged since WWII apart from tinkering with the shade of blue.

Any idea why we played in Brown and Blue from 1908 - 1928? Were they the "State Colours" at the time?

Thanks, Huey. The range of styles and colours worn by the South Australians is far more than any of the States ever wore.

Re: 1908 - you can see the full story here...

If you click on any of those jumpers on the SA homepage it will take you to a history page for that era Wink

Click on the 1930 jumper and you'll get the story of why they changed to red, navy blue and gold for example.

Thanks easty. Very interesting.

Not sure that brown and turquoise do "blend beautifully", perhaps they did in 1908 Very Happy
