Are Port and Adelaide's SANFL teams looking stronger or weaker?

i think finally we've got a big bodied spine, which as we all know is part of the recipe for success and the main ingredient that has been truly missing for years, off field in the last year or so has made the place a happy place, there is a couple of other things like fitness but i'll stop there

Re: Best and worst recruiting
I can only assess Sturt, I don't pay too much heed to what other clubs are doing. I think we've probably done most of what we intended to do, from an external recruiting perspective. We would have liked an experienced key forward (Who wouldn't?). We looked at Sellar, but my understanding is that he was always likely to return to Glenelg. (Just as Brodie Martin was always likely to return to Sturt). We looked at Johnston, but the asking price was way beyond what we think he's worth. (If we're proved wrong, so be it). We've lost both height and experience with Kurtze, Coad & Duldig, in particular. We recruited Osborn who certainly has height. Plus McMahon and Martin, who cover some of the experience. From here we go to the second part of our planning, which is to (a) Ask our 50 - 100 game players to step up into more senior roles and (b) Push our best juniors forward and see if they can do the job. Along with a new coach, of course. Clearly I'm not giving away any secrets here. It's a well used strategy, always has been. Where will we finish? I honestly have no idea!! Week by week and see how it goes.

It's early doors, but Sturt have as much chance as anyone next season imho .. The competition is so even these days, and Westies have just proven that one poor season doesn't rule a club out of contention for the next. North starting from a fair way back, but realistically at this point in time all clubs are genuine finals contenders.

Recruiting O'Brien lifts West a few places up the list.
