2015 AFL Draft
Thought I'd start a thread for this one. In this part of the forum because I would think most of us will mainly be interested in either who the SA clubs pick, or where the SA boys go.
Will be an interesting format this year with the live bidding system. All the Clubs out of sight too, no more round table stuff apparently.
Does anyone ever pay attention to all of the 'fantasy' drafts that do the rounds? I've never seen one accurately pick who Adelaide has picked in the end. Waste of space they are.
I really only take an interest once the draft has been run and I know who my club has selected, but some people really get into it.

Forgot to add that it's being held at the Adelaide Convention Centre this year as well.

I'm going to watch it, out of curiosity.
Most mock drafts have Wayne Milers going to Adelaide as first pick. I'd be surprised if that was so, think they need another tall defender or on-baller.
Be happy if Aaron Francis was available.

I agree with you Lee, I don't know much about the current pool but I doubt Adelaide will go with Milera.
Every year most 'experts' have Adelaide taking the most obvious SA based talent, but it's rarely the option they go with.
Regardless, I've been very happy with Adelaide's draft form over the last few years and I'm very confident they'll secure a couple of very handy talents with such high picks this year.

I forgot to add yesterday - would you be able to post your thoughts on the draft after being their tonight?
Would love to hear about what it was like to be there.

It's on Fox Ginge, so R&B may not be there in person.

Ah, I read that sentence differently. Of course.

A lot of people going off their chops about Adelaide's second selection.
I think it's a bit unwarranted personally. The current Adelaide recruiting team are one of the best in the comp at the moment, and clearly they see something in the kid. Let's just see what happens first.

Correct. You've got him, just need to keep him now.

Don't worry, there was plenty of that flying around last night as well - "hope he's single" etc.

Ginge did read my ambiguous post correctly.
I did go in person.
Will write a separate story in the next 5 minutes about being there in the SANFL forum.

Yes mate, have seen Bonner play and believe he could be a kid to play in his first or second year. Booming left foot, quality ball user.
The latter, Johnson, not sure about that one but like yourself you put faith in your recruiters to get the job done.

Bonner could be anything, Booney.
He'll take a year, IMO, to improve his aggression and defensive work, but if he does that, he'll be terrific. Totally dominated some Under 18 games this year.

Re: 2015 AFL Draft
Drafting is a mysterious thing.
I still can't comprehend how the 8th rated player from a TAC Cup side is better than a Will Snelling, who played a key role in a SANFL premiership, presumably because of a few cms.
