West and the Eagles played last night. It was really two games, with different teams in each half. The Eagles dominated the second half and 'won' the first half 4.4 to 1.8.

Both sides would have taken positives out of the trial. Perhaps an Eagles poster could post from their point of view.

The first half could be summed up that both sides had plenty of the footy, Eagles skills better, but West had plenty of chances and kicked badly for goal.

From West's point of view, the positive was young awill Snelling, who played on-ball and looked a natural. Chris Schmidt dominated in defence and Shannon Green again looked at home up forward.

Generally, West looked much more balanced and solid than last year.

Plenty of players still absent or rested by West - Tuck, Silverlock, Caire, Webb, Ezard, Hartlett, etc.

Firstly hats off to west for providing a team sheet of their players pity we had no eagle team sheets !!
Eagles played a mix of league and seconds players in the first two quarters . Agree Eagles had better skills but still have a long way to go to improve . From an Eagles POV at some stages still lacked a way out of the back lines . At other times Thompson and the new recruit from port "bobby" looked good and a big plus was the return of Rowntree !! New ruckman looks like a traditional ruckman !!
After halftime mostly seconds players with Lewis and Ainger that i could see! From what i could see the seconds were playing a better looking style of footy !!

West were shocking in front of goal but its Feb so they can get better !!

And any idea of crowd size looked more than i thought would go
