footballers going into politics

i noticed today that former Norwood, Collingwood & sometimes Plympton runner for his sons team is in the running to be mayor of Holdfast Bay, so who has played league football in any state & gone into any of the three levels of politics
the obvious one that have gone into politics is
Justin Madden
i suppose we may as well include Phil Cleary (VFA)
any others ?

i'm surprised Chambo hasn't come up with Gil Langley, his sporting achievements are outstanding, i have no idea about his achievements in politics

Doug Hawkins stood for PUP in the senate in Vic at the last federal election and Damian Drum has been a member of the Leg. Council in Vic state politics since 2002.

In local politics the former Norwood & Collingwood footballer Stephen Patterson was recently voted in as mayor of Holdfast Bay

Daryl Doc Baldock arguably the greatest St kilda player ever
He was in politics , but resigned to coach St Kilda
