HISTORIC APPOINTMENT FOR NEW CHAIRMAN OF STEWARDS
HRSA wishes to formally announce that Barbara Scott has been appointed as the new Chairman of Stewards for South Australian Harness Racing. HRSA also believes that this is the first time in Australian racing history that a woman has been appointed to the position of Chairman of Stewards with a racing code.
The appointment follows a very detailed and thorough process undertaken over the past three months by the selection panel.
Barbara Scott is currently a Senior Steward with Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW), and has been involved in various facets of harness racing for over 33 years as an owner, stablehand, pedigree researcher, and business owner in the racing industry.
Commencing as a Trainee Steward in regional NSW in 2006, Ms Scott has been employed as a Steward with HRNSW for the past eight years, and in that time has chaired over 150 race meetings across NSW including 60 race meetings at Menangle Paceway, the principal metropolitan harness racing venue on Sydney. She has also officiated at some of the biggest racing events in Australasian harness racing including the 2013 and 2014 Inter Dominions and the Miracle Mile.
Ms Scott also holds a degree in Business Studies, and has completed other studies in management and workplace assessment.
Ms Scott will be commencing with HRSA on Thursday 17 July.

Seems to be a funny name for a woman--ChairMAN of stewards
All the best to her, she's probably had enough of the corruption in harness racing in NSW.
