I'm off again at the end of March, missing the first 3 games of the season. 
Has anyone been to Costa Rica? We're heading there with a couple of American friends for about 12 days. Going to a few remote places, a bit of jungle, lots of wildlife, hopefully.
Our friends then go back to San Diego and we fly from Dallas to New Orleans before boarding the Serenade of the Seas for 7 days to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. It's Easter and a music festival when we get back to New Orleans, then we drive from Dallas to San Antonio and the Texas hill country before flying home.
Costa Rica's supposed to be a bit risky, but has anyone been to any of the above places and has any suggestions or advice?

It's 12 days in Costa Rica, then a 7 day cruise, then 2 or 3 days driving, just over 3 weeks

No, but Costa Rica isn't far from Colombia, so there are other ways to finance the trip

I'm off to Khao Lak in May.
About 1.5 hours North or Phuket, for my wifes and my 40th birthdays in 2015 we are going ( kidless ) with 4 other couples for 8 nights and do you think I can wait?

Two weeks tomorrow, 5 couples, no kids, 8 nights in Khao Lak which is about 90 minutes North East of Phuket. Adults only resort, so no kids at the other end either.
Fly out on the Saturday morning > Singapore > Phuket. My wife turns 40 on the Monday that we are there, I simply cannot wait.
Never been O/seas ( I don't really think NZ counts ) so really looking forward to seeing another land.
