It'd be a good title for a film about the AFL's impact on the SANFL.

Re: Screen Quotes and Quirks
Lawrence of Arabia is my all time favourite movie. It is a ripping romp.
There are some classic lines in it.
The leader of the Howitat (played by Anthony Quinn) was Auda Abu Tayi. Ireckon it is his best role, his second best role being the bumbling Mayor, Bombolini in The Secret of Santa Vittoria.
In Lawrence he delivered the following little gems;
Auda abu Tayi: [to Lawrence] I carry twenty-three great wounds, all got in battle. Seventy-five men have I killed with my own hands in battle. I scatter, I burn my enemies' tents. I take away their flocks and herds. The Turks pay me a golden treasure, yet I am poor! Because I am a river to my people!
Auda Abu Tayi (To Colonel Brighton): Brighton, be glad when God made you a fool, he gave you a fool's face.
T.E. Lawrence: My friends, we have been foolish. Auda will not come to Aqaba. Not for money...
Auda abu Tayi: No.
T.E. Lawrence: ... For Feisal...
Auda abu Tayi: No!
T.E. Lawrence: ...nor to drive away the Turks. He will come... because it is his pleasure.
Auda abu Tayi: Thy mother mated with a scorpion.

Re: Screen Quotes and Quirks
SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY [[1971]
In the early part of this movie 3 young boys walk past and vandalise a few cars
They scrape and scratch the cars with broken bottles
The scratch on the last car , a blue car was extensive
One of those vandals was a lad of about 14 in his film debut
He was later to have said that the experience was like heaven , getting paid 2 pounds for his vandalism !
That boy was Daniel Day-Lewis
The film featured Glenda Jackson and Peter Finch who are both in relationships with Murray Head
Murray Head is a singer ,probably most famous for being the lead vocalist in the hit song One Night In Bangkok

MATLOCK
The Genius[1988]
The star actor in this episode was Billy Mumy[Lost In Space]
Heres a conversation between Ben Matlock[Andy Griffith] and Billy Mumy[Lost In Space]
ANDY: "This programme WILL show that it was possible for someone besides Doctor to open that door?"
BILLY: " Absolutely , it WILL and if I can access it."
One has to ask who the willing script writer was
Another vagary of this episode
Billy Mumy played the part of Doctor Irwin Bruckner
I wonder of there is a connection with this screen name
Doctor after Dr Smith [Lost In Space]
Irwin after Irwin Allen[Creator of Lost In Space ]
Bruckner after Anton Bruckner , Billy Mumy is also an accomplished musician , Anton Bruckner who was a famous composer and music idealist

SKIPPY
The Waratahs episode
Waratahs are playing the Koalas in a rugby union match
Two guys want Mark Hammond taken out of the game, for betting purposes
They had this conversation pre game :
" I got three to one that the Koalas win the final this afternoon."
The other, is surprised and replies
" But the Waratahs are two to one on favorites."
What the ...
Those odds of 3/1 and 1/2 are the old bookies odds of the day
Heres the market, in decimal odds
$4-00 Koalas
$1-50 Waratahs
$4-00 = 25%
$1-50 = 66.66%
91.66% is the total percentage
If they got on at those odds, they could back both sides and make a profit
Heres an example of the bets they could have had at those odds
$37-50 on the Koalas at $4-00
Return $150
$100 on the Waratahs at $1-50
Return $150
The men could have invested $137-50 for a $150 return , and won $12-50, irrespective of which team won the game
Therefore the more you put on backing both teams the more you win !
The need to snuff out Mark Hammond was unnecessary !

GIDEONS WAY
Starring
John Gregson as Commander George Gideon
Alexander Davion as DCI David Keen
Notice how both actors real life surnames are similar to the reel life christian names
Gregson/George
Davion/Davis

Re: Screen Quotes and Quirks
I recorded and watched the following Bonanza episodes
Friday 22 [3:30pm]
Series 1 episode 6
THE JULIA BUCHETTE STORY
Saturday 23 [2:04am]
Series 13 episode 7
DONT CRY MY SON
These episodes were aired just under 11 hours between each episode
THE JULIA BUCHETTE STORY [1959]
The doctor in this episode was Doc Martin [played by Harry Holcombe]
DONT CRY MY SON [1971]
The doctor in this episode was Doctor Mark Sloan [played by Richard Mulligan]
The doctors names of Martin and Sloan have been used in later TV shows
Doc Martin [2004-2018] played by Martin Clunes !
Diagnosis Murder [1993 -2001] Dr Mark Sloan played by Dick Van Dyke !
The Julia Buchette story also had some interesting music scenes
Looks like a good punting by Bonanza music man David Rose , he had the music of Love Me Tender [Elvis Presley] played in several scenes
Also in this early episode was a rarity, Little Joe lost 2 fist fights, and to the same man !
